Makosh, Please explain how did you see the ED problem in ANDO son at the sieger show. I dont think it is possible to see without the help of XRAYS... Just asking

by Makosh on 18 August 2005 - 17:08

The son of Ando with elbow dysplasia was not at the Sieger show (nor were the other three dogs that I mention). This dog that I'm talking about was diagnosed with severe ED at 6 months old via x-ray, of course, and had surgery done on both elbows.

Boy tonsbrock looks nice in the standing exam, however in my opinion his movement is lacking. I am shocked at how poorly he moves. What do some of you experienced breeds think?

Schaeferhund, "Schleutert" or not, they are excellent dogs. If you don't like their Sire it's your problem. Anyway, it is just a matter of taste...

"If you don't like their Sire it's your problem. " It's sure no PROMBLEM ;-) Ando's owner is definitely not doing the dogs any favour, by tastelesly repaitning over the original photographs. With all due respect to Mr. Schleuter, there is no need to go hush hush over the fact that the pictures have been heavily edited.

I have seen some Ando dogs that looked nice, But I have seen some that are very cow hocked. But out of all good dogs, Not every dog produced will be a good one.

David, I have an offline friend who has a very nice bitch that took a breeding hit off of Rocky last year (cant remember exactly). The last thing I heard was that all of the puppies had great drives... even started biting my friends ankles. My friend also told me that all of the puppies has great black and red pigmentation. I don't know if he sold any of the puppies ( only had 4 pups total, I believe) but whenever I have time I'll come by to his house and take some pictures and some videos and send it to you by via Email. Do you have DSL or cable? I don't send just one picture... I send LOTS including LOTS of videos. I have an obsession of taking pictures and videos. It teaches you a lot about a particular dog when you have LOTS of pictures and videos in my own opinion. Just out of curiosity do you accept AI as of stud service? I went to your website... Awesome picture of Rocky. Do you have pictures of him doing normal things?

VomInsel, In an attempt to compress the video file so that it could be used on a website, and in addition, using slow motion effects, results in a degradation of the video. This may be why more websites have not attempted to use video for fear of giving a false impression of a gaiting dog. Herr Wilfried Scheld's critique of Boy's gait at the USA Sieger Show was "an outreaching gait." Herr Gunter Schwede's critique of Boy's gait at the Canadian Sieger Show was "very convincing in his ground-covering gait." Boy's website is my first attempt at developing a site. Unfortunately, since I am not a professional in this matter, the video file quality may not do Boy justice in these clips. I suggest before one is so quick to criticize based on fragmented video you may want to view Boy in person, or view one of several professional videos of him. He will be at the Sieger Show in Ulm supporting his sire Ando, and he will be shown in Pennysylvania at the NASS in October. We flew to Germany last year to pick up Boy and spent several days with Herr Schleuter and his gracious and lovely family. Having seen his kennel and dogs firsthand I can that his GSD's are even more beautiful than his photos depict. Larry Zarrilli www.vaboy.com

Sorry about my lack of proofreading! That last line should read: -Having seen his kennel and dogs firsthand I can say that his GSD's are even more beautiful than his photos depict. Forgot the word "say"!!!
