PETA focuses its attention on a petless society.
PETA kills almost 100% of the pets it gets its hands on (look up the case in VA where they picked up dogs from a shelter to "rehome" and promptly executed them - they were caught with the dead dogs). There is NOTHING ETHICAL about how PETA treats animals. NOTHING.
PETA supports ALF, which is a terrorist organization according to the FBI. There is NOTHING ETHICAL about PETA.

Yeah, note the fact they're the largest animal rights organization in the world. I'll give my money to my local shelter and to single breed rescues, which actually house and re-home dogs, thank you, rather than killing them like People for the Euthanization-and-into-the-Trash of Animals does.
