UScA has only shot their self in the foot! I know many who will not renew their membership.  With the loss of membership in clubs affiliated with UScA : this will only accelerate the demise of UScA! The consensus  is " who needs membership in UScA  when there are other organizations that do not limit clubs or members aspirations!

by VomMarischal on 03 December 2009 - 15:12

That's true, Raymond. Many people are just waiting for their membership to expire so they're not wasting money. Mine expired, and I rejoined elsewhere. UScA probably won't be counting the people who just didn't re-up; they're probably calling it normal attrition. I know that a couple people in my club are waiting for their membership to run out before they begin somewhere else.

I must have missed something - who left?

UScA is not taking into consideration a number of clubs that had dual memberships and will leave UScA when the time comes. I personally know of several that are in that situation and will leave UScA.

I saw where the WDA posted on another site they had added around 9 new clubs right after the vote. Eisenberg announced he was pulling his club.

There are effects

There is always effect when you try to tell people what to do (force them).

"The USA office is telling people only two members have left the organization. Carlos Rojas And Wallace Payne."

Then they are simply telling you a falsehood.  CLUBS have left the organization, which means that more than just those two individuals have left; their club members can now not renew their USA memberships.

USA is probably trying to mitigate the number of departures since most of them are still current USA members and will simply let their USA memberships expire - IOW, now that their clubs are no longer with USA they won't be renewing, so technically USA can say no one else has resigned....most simply will be unable to renew because they now belong to clubs no longer USA clubs.

Tess I think you can belong to  USA  regardless of what organization the club belongs to.  For example I belong to a DVG and a USA club.  If the USA club I belong to were to quit USA and become WDA, I can still remain a USA member, I just can't join WDA - not a problem for me.

For the record Eisenberg doesn't have a club. However I am a member of the Central Alabama Schutzhund Club and The South Metro Atlanta Schutzhund Clubs. Both organizations are run democratically, both voted and are going WDA. I personally wrote UScA and asked my membership be terminated. I am for freedom of choice I believe strongly in my freedom and would leave any organization which limited my freedom.

As was said above, many of us have not formally resigned. I will not renew my membership in U.S.c.A. when it is due January 2010. And I will send a letter to U.S.c.A.'s membership representative and advise the person of my reasons - they are few yet quite sufficient.

Essentially, I do not want to remain as a member of an organization whose executive board has chosen to operate without transparency; and clearly demonstrates that all members do not have a say regarding major decisions. Let them (not us anymore) have the club they want - no grief from me. If they truely suffer - so be it. It they do an about-face - too late. I'm finished with them.

Sincerely,
Bob-O

Pretty lame if usca is using the last few weeks as a benchmark for how many members are leaving.  I've talked to many who are waiting for memberships to expire and trying to figure out the best way to get the clubs moved over.
