Would some of the folks who attended the show be kind enough to give a rating on the protection work performed by the males. Maybe scoring 1 being the worst, and 10 being the best. It would be an invaluable tool for those of us who were not able to attend when considering the possible use of these males with our females. Thank you for your help.

so we can be crucified for opinions? no thanks!!

by cledford on 19 October 2005 - 22:10

I think people should post their opinions - obviously there is a lot that happens in the light of day and is observed by all but doesn't seem to factor into the judges scoring. Too many people in the dog world stay silent about such things - why? Everything should be open to evaluation - judges, handlers, dogs, facilities, how do things ever get better without discourse? No one I've met in the dog world is honest "on the record" about what they know. Is it a case not wanted to get down in the muck, or something else? -Calvin

GSDNewbie, God Bless you(really). You made my day, as I am having a huge, healthy laugh at your last post(my close friends tell me I am sick-LOL). I have a warped sense of humor and sometime when we read posts we cannot see expressions on one's face or see the "heart" of intentions, behind the posts. Too often, we take this all too serious. Go ahead and share. No crucifictions allowed! Stephen

No you did not see me, I was not there.

i have a better idea... buy the protection DVD... you can see for yourself, what you might think is good bitework to some might be fair and vice versa hit the website they will have the name of the folks who did the video. regards, Dawnmarie

Newbie, you must learn to take it from the source. Everyone's opinion is just that, an opinion. If some do not share in your's that would be called a difference of opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Dawnmarie, not everyone can afford to buy the DVD. This is supposed to be a discussion board where ideas and opinions should be shared without fear of reprisal. If you don't have the stomach for it then don't participate. If I had attended I would have no problem sharing what I saw. Anyone out there that is NOT afraid to share their opinions?

I agree Hunter everyone has a right to have their opinions and talk about them without getting attacked and hey yep I agree thats called a conversation! You wont find me disagreeing that, folks should be able to ask questions and talk out thier point of views without someone belittling or attacking them. Yes the videos are expensive and some of the pictures taken that I saw were misleading except for to see the full bite onto the sleeve it really does not tell the story either. Maybe someone without the name NEWBIE should step forward and offer thier critique instead though I just dont feel up to defending myself today anymore. Perhaps maybe if others would like to offer thier favorites of the bitework without negative comment publically for Hunter?

The vom Haus Stronje website has posted protection esults with dogs highlighted in BOLD that they personally felt were strong. Suggestion: start the discussion with those dogs who made positive impressions.
