curious, a lot of people have asked me about this but don't know the answer thought maybe someone on here may

So to be a member of the USA you can not belong to another gsd organization and have to sign a loyalty card, to show at the Sieger you have to be a member of the USA. Most people that show at the Sieger are WDA members especially the large Kennel names.
Does this mean that the big name kennels will not be at this year's USA Sieger show in Lake Geneva, WI.,
will there be more working line dogs there this year and not as many show line dogs.
who is co-hosting the Sieger believe last year Mittelwest people helped set it up, aren't they WDA members.

Last  year  they had around 360 to 380 dogs at the show, let's see how many they will have this year. I bet anyone that WDA will have more at their sieger show in october than what USA will at theirs this year.

So I hear from a friend who talked with the USA office that Lyle, Tim and Johanne will accept WDA members as long as you promise not to renew when your membership expires.
Guess that means WDA members have another year since their membership expired end of December. Still doesn't help big name kennels since some of them are also WDA board members.
Guess USA can't have a Sieger without WDA members. but still holding firm to their bylaws :)

So I guess that means that people who were not WDA and truthfully signed the loyalty card and rejoined USA, can now go ahead and join WDA, right?  Then they, too, can "promise" Lyle and Johannes not to rejoin when their WDA membership expires.

Could you elaborate on the "loyalty card" I have not heard anything about it other than speculatin!

by TessJ10 on 02 February 2010 - 14:02

When you renew your USA membership, you have to sign a statement saying that you don't belong to any other competing GSD organization.

What me tel the truth? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOO! Well that does present a problem since I am already a member of another organization! Would any one say it is time for a class action law suit? I would very much like to participate in the show being it is so close to home!

I went to the USA Sieger Show last year and was not at all impressed.  IMO it sucked compared to the WDA NASS I attended the fall before.  I'm not talking about the bitework....just the overall show in general.  The venue sucked large object, less vendors, way less entries, strange rules, etc.  I'm not going to the USA SS this year, probably a waste of my time and money.  I'll go to WDA NASS in St. Louis instead.  My decision has nothing to do with this USA vs. WDA membership crap, though that doesn't really give me any reasons to change my mind about not going.

While I expect our female to be titled by June, and Lake Geneva is close to home for me also, I will not be showing her unless the bylaw is revoked. I will go to watch the performance tests and that is all. I will, however, glady make the trip in October to show at the NASS, and be rated by an SV judge.

I am no big breeder, it is just one dog, and one entry fee, but if enough people put their foot down something will have to change.

Thanks everyone for these posts, it has been very informative. As a newcomer I was a bit confused about this whole subject. And which club to join. Looks like the WDA is the club.. correct?
Is is true that Schutzund titles earned through them can now be put on a dog's AKC papers, or is this rumor?
Thanks for any info,
Shelby
