Hello there.

Now, It doesn't seem to matter how many time I access this website for information, of which it has many useful comments and information, I ALWAYS come across ghastly snobbery.

I am actually shocked at some of the things you people say.

I was prompted to write this when I read a post regarding Panda Shepherds, in which someone comments:

"...Now I hear that they will be entering the Panda Shepherd on their next show. You got to be kidding me! I'll take a longcoat GSD anytime over these "CLOWNS"."

Clowns? What? You are talking about a living creature. How dare you call the dog a clown. This is a tame version of what I'm talking about. It's just mean. Plain. Mean. These sorts of comments are disgraceful.

The only clowns around here are the fanatical and anally retentive owners.

I myself own two purebred dogs, and I agree with pure breeding ONLY because MOST breeders know what they are doing and look out for health problems, it is also a largely monitored industry. I don't agree with designer dogs - in the sense of making a fad for some bucks, but another thing I cannot tolerate is the horrible, and yes I MEAN horrible things I read about new breeds of dogs on here.

DO you think your German Shepherd hatched out of an egg as a pure breed? Are we not supposed to make new breeds? Sounds a little to me like what the church reckons about not opening religion up to minorities : "Small and pure".

Do you think you could be a little more mindful with your comments? I hate to think of how some of you would treat your children, if you had any.

Seems like some of you seem to look at Dogs as a status symbol NOT A LIVE ANIMAL.

I just really cannot stress how hurtful some of the things are that I read on here. Show some respect guys. (if i am myself, being a little harsh on here, it's to emphasize what I'm talking about.)

Note: I mean no disrespect, I'm not sure if this will even be allowed on the message board, I just am not sure if some of you are aware how you speak.
You just seem to get a little cocky and cruel regarding breeds and breed standards and anyone not following the strict rules. I know this is a purebred dog site, but rather than putting others down, you should be encouraging the greater good, that's what makes responsible breeding so beautiful and something to be proud of.
No wonder there is so much stigma attached to breeders. The number one comment I hear regarding dog/puppy sales is "Breeders should be banned". No, puppy farms should be, I'm sure you all agree. It is the idea that breeders are snobs whom only care about money that pushes these ideas. Represent and show the people what is the right way and why.

 Haha. Yes, I'm sorry.

I have been lurking around these parts the past 4 years, however today I just erupted out of anger.

Nice to meet you to. ;-)

What do you say to puppy millers who think they are breeders? When is a new breed not a mutt? Or when is a mutt a new breed? Just some of my thoughts on your outburst.

Thanks for straightening everybody out. You gave your opinion, mine is that you take yourself way too serious (or that you are a panda? breeder).

While I do not consider the dogs to be clowns, I do consider those promoting them as anything resembling a GSD as such. And this includes those trying to pass off various other mixed breed dogs as legitimate GSD.

A better idea would be for those with other interests to go where those interests are shared, not come onto a GSD board looking for people dumb enough to fall for their spill. Are there no panda boards to discuss the panda.

If someone came here wanting to carry on lengthy discussions about any recognized breed  other than the GSD, I'm pretty sure that some one would remind them that this is a GSD board. No snobbery in that. Why not take it to the dobie board, or the rottie board.

I frankly like that we are, for the most part, left to express how we really feel on this forum. I get irritated with other forums where everyone is, "oh how wonderfull" about every damm picture and litter.

Every dog doesn't have something to offer the gene pool, well at least not something worthwhile or good.

You're OK, Zed. After you read these things for a couple years, you'll be angry too at the poorly bred dogs who end up in rescue or PTS for health problems. Nobody cares if somebody likes a "different" kind of GSD...although most of us would rather they weren't intentionally breeding them. Call us ZEALOTS rather than snobs.
