Moons,

So what is your prefered method of culling?

Tracker,

She has had plenty of time to set the record straight and if she is now saying spaying that was not her original message.

Whatever people I have better things to do then discuss Diane's preferred method of getting rid of puppies/adults.

Sorry, maybe it's a culture thing I'm from the UK and culling is not drowning. That is as TwoMoons said torture. I believe to cull can mean different things but if an animal has to be killed then I could think of a more humane way than sticking it in some water to inhale 'till it dies. But each to their own, just does not sit well with me.

If you have to kill half your litter due to defects every time you breed, stop breeding. If you have to kill half your litter due to the fact that you sell privately and don't have enough buyers, breed less or better yet, don't breed. I can see if you have to do it once in a great while. Maybe one pup out of 9 doesn't look healthy and mom is paying very little attention. If its because they don't have the drives, nerve, etc. Stop breeding and spay/neuter the parents.

SP,
If you have to put an animal down it should be quick, with as little excitement as possible.
It is not always painless but the less time the animal is aware the better.

There are many ways to be humane.

Drowning is not one of them.

Moons.

"If you have to kill half your litter due to defects every time you breed, stop breeding."

And there you have it...seems fairly straightforward.
