Hi Gayle, I hear good things about you, hope things go well for WDA, of which I am a member.  Am I missing something on the WDA site? I can't find anything about the latest meeting. Any help finding it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you Gayle. That was just what I was looking for. :-) Theresa

Randy,

Paragraph 9 allows flexibility of membership in both WDA & UScA for co-owned dogs where the WDA member is in Good Standing (GS).

Paragraph 10 derives from the WDA Bylaws disciplinary policy.  Any person Not in Good Standing (NiGS) with the WDA may not participate in the NASS.  A member who has been placed NiGS remains NiGS (even if they are no longer a dues paying member--hence the wording, "any person") until such time as all sanctions have been lifted.   For example, If an owner is a member in GS with WDA, but the co-owner is NiGS with the WDA, the NiGS co-owner may not participate--which means that the dog may not participate, so long as the name of the person NiGS remains on the dog's official papers.

Robin,

Yes, ALL entries, including puppies, require 4-generation pedigrees and tattoo certification.  (This is not a new rule.  For club or regional Breed Shows, official documentation for puppies is not required.)  For pups in the 3-6 month class, it will be possible to certify the tattoo on the pedigree at check-in.  The owner must provide the signed official tattoo certification form.

NoCurs,

A "Summary of Actions Taken" at the July 2010 WDA Board meeting will likely be ready for publication sometime next week.  The full "Minutes" cannot be published until they are formally approved by the Board as a whole.  Please remember that service on the WDA Board is a voluntary effort and that all Board members have busy, active lives in addition to their WDA service.   Upon completion of the "Summary of Actions Taken", this report will be forwarded to the chair of the ad hoc Website Committee, who will then forward the materials to the webmaster.  Hopefully, the materials will then be published on the website, both in a timely and accessible fashion.

In the meantime, WDA members in Good Standing can always call or e-mail any of the Officers or Directors should they have pressing specific questions.  Contact information is available on www.gsdca-wda.org.

Kaiser1979,

The handler is not required to be a Member of WDA.  However, a handler who is NiGS may not participate.
