Mystere

Congratulations, Aaron!

You have shown a great deal of character and courage in posting here as you have today.

btw--Actually, there was another transgender schutzhunder in the region a few years ago (male to female).   Check your pm.

LOL.........

A bit too much info in my opinion.

Glad you made it out (A).
I remember our debates about the military from sometime back.
Not gonna debate your sexual preferences.
Good luck,
Moons.

Moons,

It is not about sexual preferences.  Transgender is about gender identity.

Thank you for your service.

Mystere is correct, transgender pertains to gender identity, not sexual orientation.
More accurately, I am transsexual, a person whose gender identity is opposite their biological sex at birth.

Aaron, glad to "know" you, and thanks for your time in the service.  Since we are both in the same area, I do hope we get a chance to meet and *actually* do get to know one another. Just not enough schutzhunders around for all the fussing and fighting this region has.   :  (  My brother was gay, and served in the service for 19.5 years before he ran into some kind of trouble about his status. I know he ended up with an honerable discharge of 20 years because he was so well liked, even though there were a few I guess trying to make trouble. So I understand and respect your situation. Sadly, my brother passed away from a heart attack just a few years after his retirement.

I just want to say that you are VERY REFRESHING, having the balls (as it were) ; )  to stand up and state your name, plus your gender issue.  I really respect that.  I just don't understand why so darn many people on here act like they are CIA agents or something! It's a DOG BOARD!

Anyway, please come up and introduce yourself if you see me at any events. I'm the old, fat, crippled lady with wild hair, a cane and shorts on!  : )

I don't see much value in hiding who I am- we only hide what we're ashamed of.  And I'm not ashamed.

Given that I don't intend to remain at a club-trial level forever [I'm only 27, dammit... I'll make it to the Nationals some day], anonymity would be impossible.

I'm sure we'll cross paths at some point.  I'm planning on taking the knuckle head out to Joe Kaplos's place for some training so I can put a Jr Herding title on her, so I'll be down that way often.   Between that and trials, its rather impossible we wouldn't meet at some point.  [I'm the skinny kid with the filthy Jeep and clean dog.  Go figure.]

Truer words were never spoken!  Welcome to the "named club"   :  )    I'm actually a long way from Joe's.  I'm in Tumwater. Anyway, I'll be at the USA regionals to cheer Shade on, so probably see you there.
