You're probably right, Bob; this is probably a lot of hooplah over nothing as I doubt UScA will uphold the ammendment permanently.  Whether or not we eventually trial together will depend on when that happens but I'm in Indy and would like to come up to train with you sometime next year if I'm welcome and you promise your helper won't hurt my big wimpy showline dog.

Keith:
I train in Indy every weekend, so come on over to German Park on Meridian St. on Sunday Morning around 10.00 am and train. Would love to meet you and your dog. And you can help me properly stack my Fiest that (eegads i can,t believe i,m saying this) i,m going to run in our Conformation and Core Class the second  weekend of November.

Hexe:

My only question is did you not know all this when you first joined?. That is what I can,t understand about this whole dog and pony show. People are going crazy over stuff that they knew (and did,t care about) or were that naive when they joined. From what I see the only difference now is ego,s are getting bruised all over the place and the J.A. ammendment(which who knows if it is even going to stand the next meeting) if it does then will all the whining go away because again the majority voted for it instead of against it?

When I joined, alternative breeds were welcome in the "United SCHUTZHUND Clubs of America" not the United GERMAN SHEPHERD CLUB of America.  Other breeds could compete at National and Regional championships and weren't disparaged against.  Now it's the "we're all about the breed" and not about the sport or even the betterment and promotion of working dog sports here in America.  Then change the freakin' name of the organization to United German Shepherds Uber Alles.

In USA, any breed can compete at any schutzhund trial at the local as well as the Regional Championship level.  Any breed can compete at the USA Working Dog Championships.  Only the USA Nationals are  limited to GSDs.  I do think the name should be USA GSD Nationals.

No, you have to be a USCA member hence the rub, unless of course you are a resident of a foreign country, then all bets are off,,,,,,,come on in.  So now, being a citizen of the Grand 'Ol US of A doesn't help you but binds you.  Again, a case of "If I want your opinion, I'll give it to you".  BTW, another one I love is the "you have to pay us to stamp your scorebook" rule.  Why not just charge people on a demerit system, $1 a point for every point you lose from your 100 per phase.  That way the only one who doesn't get socked "free trip to Germany funds for the EB" slush fund money is Helmut Huber,,,,,and he already lives there.

Hi Phil My post was actually in response to your  statement  "Other breeds could compete at National and Regional championships and weren't disparaged against".   which was not quite correct since all breeds can compete at Regional championships AND all breeds can compete at the USA Working Dog Championship, AND do so quite successfully.

Again, you have to be a member of USCA and to be a member you would have to swallow the bucket of s*@t that USCA is trying to feed us and compromise your principals.  Sorry, just can't do that.   Others may follow but I walk a different path.

"I train in Indy every weekend, so come on over to German Park on Meridian St. on Sunday Morning around 10.00 am and train."

I appreciate the offer but prefer to take my pup somewhere where he will be worked based on his ability rather than pre-judged because of his color and Mike D.'s dislike of showlines is fairly well known around here (even though he did sell me one in 1986).
