Jim, Oli has been making tweaks all along, those types of changes are not magic. What is happening is misinformation is being disseminated and some people just don't want you to know it. Doubt is the object, here. I swear I am not being paranoid!

PS: I now use adblock with Safari and am no longer bothered by those ads.

To moderator:
Just ask the forum moderator of the green board, for instance.

What is the green board?

Jim

Moderator comment: I believe that Silbersee is an owner (there are several I think) of the green board and I think the name of that forum is German Shepherd World. ALL other GSD boards I know of are, in fact, moderated. Part of the trouble here now is that this one did just fine for a number of years and with the growth also came the trouble and people posting anything they wanted to. Those days are now gone forever. In time, those who come here only to start trouble will end up being blocked for longer and longer periods. Eventually, it is hoped the forum will return to what it can be and often is, based on the posts of people who can discuss, and sometimes disagree but in a respectful manner.

Oli has made tweaks to the design at least twice that I am aware of. You probably pulled the old cached version or something. I would expect you will not have anymore problems.

This is honestly the best layout this place has ever had. IMO

I know it meant change for some but I now see by an earlier post that Oli has made it so we can choose to get the pics from the CDN or from the main server.  Moons can change the preference and should then get pictures from the main server.

Bee,
When I said "magic" I was being sarcastic.  I know my problems viewing the forum and the subsequent fix are because of Oli's tweaking and changes.  My point was that not all of the problems are with members computers or ISP's, IMO.

hahaha When I said MM I was referring to Mainly Max not Maggie Mae!  That's kind of funny, I guess we need a little comic relief now and then.  My point was to let Mainly Max know that no one tells me what to say, I am no one's mouthpiece.  Just because I agree with the mods and not you Max, is no reason for a cheap shot.  For the record, I have had posts deleted too, and sometimes I don't like it, but that's the way it goes.

Moderator comment: My mistake in not explaining more clearly.  MaggieMae has been blocked now for other comments as well as recently being blocked for comments. She will remain in a time-out. Max and you can take it perhaps privately? Please stay on topic.

SP--Seriously dude, I did that, & yes, the PDB was fine, but all the other sites I frequent were whacked! But this morning I decided to sign on using Firefox instead of my usual AOL, & Presto! Mostly all better. So I guess which browser you use makes a difference! Now, I'm noticing that I still can't see everything I'm typing as I post, so I'll try to be careful, but I'm not the greatest at keyboarding, I usually have to reread & edit before I post, but if y'all can tolerate the typos, this is much better! jackie harris

Well, It will be interesting to see if the new fix will help Moons, upon his return, (and how pissed he'll be at me!!!!) Here's to a HAPPy MOONS! and a successful fix.... !

Moderator comment: When someone is blocked, they can still view the site, but they cannot post.

****I kinda figured that Mod, that is why I'm preparing for my lickin' now!     Hi Moons! *******

Ah, AOL browser that explains some of the problems. LOL  I would again try to adjust your resolution and see if firefox is any better on your other sites.

The link I posted to you was to adjust the font size. I figured that was the problem when you said all your other sites are whacked.

Jim,

I will have to disagree. The resolution problems are on members computers and the CDN issues are with the ISP's. Resolution should be turned up all the way. It enhances pictures and videos. It can make it hard to see the fonts and I turn my up to 120% and with my old eyes I can see it just fine.

It looks like by spreading the design we no longer have the ad overlapping problems.

So Moons & Maggie are in the Dog House! LOL

What a lot of people don't notice is some vile posts are removed so fast that only a few people see them.

The Mods are right on top of certain people.

Moderator comment: Thank you for noticing. Yes, some comments are removed very, very quickly and are not noted by most of you. There will be some that sneak through, but when noticed by one of the moderators, will quickly be deleted if they are the kind that we have already mentioned. In general, I do not mention who I block. If a first time offender, or a rare offender, and not a really horrible post, I will warn. So far, with most, that is enough to stop the trouble. With others, they go on and on or repeatedly post comments just to cause trouble. I block them then, and next time I see an offensive post from that person, I give no warning and simply block them. Minor offenses are a few hours, repeated or serious, a few days. People who simply come to start trouble......well, I think about when or if to unblock. I think the moderators are being pretty consistent as well, though we do not know who is moderating and have no internal "secret" discussions.
