AGREED Hans. Using that word a-g-r-e-e-d. Seems to be so popular with the mods and enlightening to some readers......namely, me. (lol) Well...one thing's for sure, I will never be labeled a sore loser...and yes...I lost. I enjoyed the database being free and open......enjoyed the good info, the outlandish drama, the sentimentality and even the negativity. Alas, it's over. So.......my hat's off to them. They won and have Oli's ear. Big responsibility, though, if you get my drift. I wouldn't want to face him if my meddling cost him. (lol).
Oh, BTW.......From now on I will be printing out the threads I post on. If I'm deleted, I will be sending them to Oli.

Certainly keep your own copies if you wish, but just so you know Moderators save a copy of each post that has been edited/deleted so the original is not lost.

OK, since you do not realize what I am talking about let me explain.
Nazis in Nuremberg trial said that: we as soldiers can not be blamed/prosecuted for what we have done since we had no choice but we to follow the rules and enforce orders.
The moderator here said: We have no choice as moderators, but to enforce the TOS.
Can you see the similarity? To follow orders no matter what is not always good thing. Thus to argue that "all I am doing is following orders" does not cut the mustard with me since my relatives and I were prosecuted under such philosophy and my grandfather was killed because of it.
And again I am not saying that the moderator is Nazi. Not at all. I just would like people to think before they use some slippery slope argument.
History!
Check it out. I
Hans

Prager do you own this site? LMH do you own this site? Well the answer is no so, neither of you have a say. You have your opinions and that is great, but it is not going to change how Oli runs his site. I have no problem facing Oil and I do it on a weekly/daily basis. Either accept Oli's decision or move on. All the complaining, threatening to leave and all the other pouting and temper tantrums will not change a thing.
Some of this complaining is coming from some of the same people who complained things were out of hand before moderation. I did some searches last night and this site is made fun of because it was a free for all and people rated and laughed at some of you people.
Oli is doing the right thing and no one likes change and it is evident by the 3 complainers who likes what and who does not. You will not elict change here with your complaining.
Moons is no asset, see assets try and accept change and get others to accept change and not try and fight the site owners every move because he does not like it.

GSD

The TOS is the TOS and we will enforce it. We have choices, but if we want to remain mods we must do our best to enforce it.

No point to get upset.
It is just an opinion. I know that it is Oli's site and I agree that he can do what ever he wants. I have stated that here many times myself. And I will fight for his rights to do what ever he wants . That does not mean that I must agree with decisions made about it.
I like the PDB .
Thus thats is why I am just expressing my opinion about it. I have other things to do then place my opinions on forums I do not care about. But I do care about PDB. And thus I am pointing out that there are consequences to any such decision here. You and Oli may or may not listen or care. But obviously you do. I call it a discussion.Or do you have problems with such opinions/discussion?
I think that I have been very good member here and your outburst is uncalled for. I have never used profanities and I do not make personal attacks I only express disagreement with someone's else's opinions and my posts are helpful, to the point and researched. Yes I want the PDB and it's forum to stay I just do not agree that it needs to be moderated.
You mention people on other forums making fun of PDB. People on other forum are badmouthing PDB only because they are jealous, not because PDB is bad. PDB is the best, most useful site and most popular site of this type on the world. And it did not got that way by moderating.
JMO and no disrespect intended.
Prager.

Unfortunately, some come here and are unable to maintain a civil and intelligent discussion about most topics. Many come here to promote something they do or sell. Some contribute, some post innane material. And some try as hard as they can to cause trouble in one way or another. Over time, this free-for-all has ruined this forum. The promise of this forum is superior to all others on this topic, simply because of the breadth of information the site owner has made available. There are a few other good internet forums dedicated to the discussion of GSDs and dogs in general. They are ALL moderated.
It was unmistakably necessary that this site be moderated. It is a difficult job, especially when there are a handful of people who are determined, in some way, to try to thwart such a change and do what they can to discredit and constantly accuse and bash moderators. Then there a few others who equate "freedom" with an imperfect understanding of the liberties granted to free people. Along with freedom comes responsibility. Too many people who know the first word do not really understand or live up to the second word. There is nothing here that any moderator, so inclined, could delete that would be earth shaking and that one cannot say privately or perhaps elsewhere on another internet site. I don't always agree with how or what was moderated here, but, if I do not like it, I do still have the FREEDOM TO LEAVE and take my comments and opinions elsewhere. So do all of you.
