To equate moderation on this forum with what occurred in Nazi Germany, including the defense claim of those at Nürnberg, shows a fundamental lack of understanding about what really happened there. This is a silly internet site filled with people from all walks of life and from all over the world, with a myriad of viewpoints about all kinds of topics mostly related to dogs. Nothing here is life or death.

Unfortunately, some come here and are unable to maintain a civil and intelligent discussion about most topics. Many come here to promote something they do or sell. Some contribute, some post innane material. And some try as hard as they can to cause trouble in one way or another. Over time, this free-for-all has ruined this forum. The promise of this forum is superior to all others on this topic, simply because of the breadth of information the site owner has made available. There are a few other good internet forums dedicated to the discussion of GSDs and dogs in general. They are ALL moderated.

It was unmistakably necessary that this site be moderated. It is a difficult job, especially when there are a handful of people who are determined, in some way, to try to thwart such a change and do what they can to discredit and constantly accuse and bash moderators. Then there a few others who equate "freedom" with an imperfect understanding of the liberties granted to free people. Along with freedom comes responsibility. Too many people who know the first word do not really understand or live up to the second word. There is nothing here that any moderator, so inclined, could delete that would be earth shaking and that one cannot say privately or perhaps elsewhere on another internet site. I don't always agree with how or what was moderated here, but, if I do not like it, I do still have the FREEDOM TO LEAVE and take my comments and opinions elsewhere. So do all of you.

And I have specifically stated that I am not comparing the moderator to Nazis. But you have missed that completely somehow:).
My understanding of Nazi Germany is very good. I would say well above average .

I am not upset at all. I have heard you say a lot of what went on here in the past was wrong.

If I come to your site and sign up and walk in and start typing this site is giving me viruses/malware and the people at your site can f off and so can the site owner. I am pretty sure my comments would be gone in no time.

Hold on I will be right there to trash your pages with BS and lies. Not.

Your forum is moderated, but you are upset Oli has decided to have moderators. I cannot make sense of those conflicting views.

When the winds of change blow you can get blown away or you can figure out a way to battle through the storm. I am a battler and I intend to make it through the winds of change.

I know of another new forum on the web, do you think the site admin of that site would allow me to tell all the members to f off and allow me to spread lies about the site containing viruses or maleware? I highly doubt it.

I hear doom and gloom, but if you look over the last few weeks more people are coming back than are leaving. The site will continue to grow and if it does not work Oli will have a choice either close the forums or let them just go to hell.

Some of you people think Oli is making money off this site. Wrong, if anything he is breaking even and that is a good thing. Oli does not need the money from this site to live on, all he needs it to do is pay for itself and with all the coding work he does here for our benifit no one would begrudge him making a few dollars off his site.

All forums are moderated. Hans or anyone,  I challenge you to find me one forum worth anything that is not moderated. You can't because even your forum is moderated.

Also one little point  free people do not have granted liberties. 
Just to remind you;
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

And yes I know this is not USA but private website.

 Hans, you are sadly confused about the true meaning of the terms you so often like to quote. There is no RIGHT for you or me or anyone else to post here or elsewhere. It is a privilege framed by certain rules. If one does not like the rules, too bad. We leave. Your comment about the defense at Nürnberg was faulty. Just because the moderators here do the bidding of the site owner does not mean they are using the same defense and in the same way as it was at Nürnberg. For you to suggest it is offensive to all who died in those Nazi concentration camps. 

If a paper editor does not like my letter to the editor, it may not be published. I still have the opportunity to say what I want, and indeed to go publish what I want in some alternative media if allowed. It is no different here. The dire predictions of gloom and doom and the site being less fun etc. suggests that at least a few enjoyed all the crap posted here in the past. I suspect more people left because of it than will ever leave because the site is moderated. Moderators are not perfect, and I do not expect that they will always moderate in a manner I would approve of, or that others will approve of, but it is here to stay and I personally, whether I post here or not, think it a good thing. I have said my last words on this. You should reconsider how you try to make your points about moderation because the moderation here or how moderators write about it has nothing to do with unethical or evil or inhumane behavior as you suggested in your previous comment.

Oh yes, one more thing.....in a free society, again there is a huge difference between liberty and rights and responsibilities and privileges etc. etc. etc. Freedom in our society does NOT give one free reign to do, say or act as one wishes. There are constraints set by law, by private ownership, by groups and others. If I don't like it here, I have the ultimate freedom to say so and go elsewhere. I suspect you won't go elsewhere because it is too important to you to stay and promote what you do for a living. Your opinion is you don't like the moderation. Fine, don't comment. Or go post them somewhere else, or live with the system in place. Those seem to be the choices at hand.

  yes I have said my part when someone  said something  wrong here in past and yes  I tried to "moderate" people. But it was public. I guess I am not against moderating as much as I am against deleting posts and threads into oblivion in censorship type way.

 As far as my forum goes.
I so far have not deleted one opinion from my forum . Only viruses. I know time is young and forum is new.
I personally believe that if someone will get out of hand on my forum I will be able to take care of it on  the forum publicly.  You may prove me wrong. We'll see. Thanks for well answered response. I do respect you. If I would not then  I would not comment on your posts.

Then why even say that? You act like your rights have been taken away. HOW? It makes no sense here.

We are not here to thwart your freedom of speech. We are here to enforce a set of rules. Society has laws and rules. What makes you think a forum should not?

Again we are not here to blunt your right to free speech. You know that, but you keep playing this card. WHY? To drive more people to your site. You have a forum and what better way to get members.

A direct question? If I come to your site and tell all your members you have viruses on your site and I tell you to f off what would you do with my freedom of speech?
