Calling someone or something a doorknob means you think they are stupid (are about as intelligent as a doorknob.)

I have heard many, many good things about Ivan. He trained a friend's mobility service dog to also protect her, and was able to work around her disabilities so that she was able to control the dog and reinforce the training.

And I also really like Molly's dogs and have heard good things about them from people who own them. I am impressed by anyone who can produce a dog that's well-rounded enough to do both herding and schutzhund.

"afwark"...Very glad to see you like and enjoy your dog...Ivan is a very good trainer and certainly someone to listen to and learn from...

"adlerbach"...Beautiful dog and love to hear people who like working their dogs...It's all about the "bonding" that goes on between owner/handler and their dogs...
...and I agree that this picture is "wall worthy"...I'd have it enlarged and framed...It's always nice to hang pictures of your dogs on your walls for you and your friends to enjoy...

It doesn't make a difference what other people think of your dog and/or the breeder...as long as you are happy with them...
What makes a difference is how you feel about your dog...It's a bonding experience between You and Your Dog...NOT...You and the Breeder...or You and Other People...
There are always others that are envious of what you have...Learn what's important to you and ENJOY!

I think the door knob statement is just one of those jealous statements! Or a statement meant to cause  hurt or discomfort or anguish!  A statement that is all to often typicla from the competetive dog world! I think if you ask one of her dogs if they are stupid as a door knob they would probably look bachk at you as if you were as stupid as a door knob! And they would be 100% correct ! None of the dogs look stupid to me and I can spot stupidity from 100 light years away! Schucks when people start making slanderous statements against you you got to be doin something right!

Door knobs, huh?  OK, then sign me up because they look like they can do a damn fine job of ringing anyone's bell, they sure look pretty darn good to me!

Thank you everyone for your nice comments!

I absolutely love my boy, and could not be happier with him.

Good point about the doorknob....Don't know exactly what it means, but it was definitely used as a term to refer to something that is useless, or dumb...etc etc.

Pack,
I feed Taste of the Wild..maybe that is why he looks so shiny :o)

I cannot wait until spring trials start....we will get our BH, then hopefully a nice succession of Sch 1, 2, 3....haha

There's another Eichenluft pup - 8 months old - you can see for a few seconds in ibso52's  Bernhard Flinks seminar ad.  The puppy's at 15 seconds in and 20 seconds in.

 Beautiful dogs!
