For all who may be interested, BGSDTC Monday evenings at St Helens Rugby Club, off A580 east lancs road, taken by Steve Horrocks is one of the best I have ever attended. Welcoming atmosphere, great company, young Natalie wears out a set of trainers every week helping everbody, she's an absolute gem! As is her Mum Kath and Steve, for the same reason. If you want to know what it's like to go training with nice people, in a great atmosphere where everyone gives each other support and helps out in what ever way they can, then join the club and give your support too. This is what all training clubs should be like. I might be a Yorkshire lass, but I happily cross the border any day of the week to train with these genuine gsd folk. Regards Sue

Hi I have a 6month old bitch who Im hopeing to show, the proplem is her attention span is short. When i am in front of her works a bit to well but out off sight of her attention goes, she would rather say hi to everyone an play other pups,or people even if shout her nothing. She is kenneld overnight, in the house during the day.

Thats the way a 6 month old pup should be, don't worry let her be a pup. Young dogs attention span is short, just like children. And at this age you WANT her to be outgoing and social. Build her focus and drive with toys (ie. Ball on a string) and when she matures you can use her ball/play drive and desire for the reward (ball) to get her focus for OB training. I would not expect a 6mo old pup to do much work out of sight. Remember she's still a baby, everything right now should be FUN, let her mature. Good luck, Melanie

Natz, all Melanie (GSDFan) has said above is absolutely correct. I would add just one thing, remember she needs to be stimulated and excited when in your company, ie. you doing things with her like playing ball, rag or going for a walk. If while in the house during the day your company is constantly boring i.e she is either just following you or lying around, she will look for other things, people or dogs for playful stimulation rather than you. Just a thought that might help. Regards Sue

Toots & Sue B (as i know she is a judge)can you tell me why a b/gold dog is not seen as the right colour, thus judges placing it last at shows? I ask as i have a b/gold dog that has been placed last many times even tho it is a better looking dog and a better mover than those b/tan placed above. We even entered it at 2 day but still ended up last,"colour is wrong" judges comments!!
