Hi! Can anybody please tell me, based on individual opinion, what is the best dry dog food? Anyone hear have tried Eaglepack, Canidae or Happy Dog?

i like chicken soup; i complement with beef hock bones. it seems to work pretty good; heard very good things of canidae, but i find it rather expensive, kosta

I have also heard good things about Canidae, but I don't know any retailers around here that sell it. I'm kind of looking for a good food myself. Currently trying a food called Enhance, it's for working dogs. Good luck!

i have tried canidae and eagle pack. I prefer eagle pack. I got better stools with eagle pack. I got dry skin with canidae. Blackwoods foods is very good also. Im trying there HOlistic formula now and the results seem great. ceddy

Canidae was ok for one of my dogs but it gave the other one really dry skin. I switched to Innova and they both do really well, good skin, coat, and the stool is the best I have seen on any food.

I used to feed Canidae and the dogs did fine on it, until they apparently changed the formula, and some of my dogs instantly got dry/itchy skin. Canidae denied changing the formula - but many other people reported the same thing. So I switched to Chicken Soup and have been very satisfied with it - good price, the dogs like it, it has high meat content and no corn/wheat. My dogs' coats look fantastic. Stools are sometimes loose, but nothing out of the ordinary. molly

Eukanuba premium performance. Large breed. For the money you can't beat it. I have a friend that sells ingredients to all dog food companies and he has been in just about every major dog food producing factory in the country. He told me Iams/Eukanuba has the best equipment for making the dogfood in the industry. He also said they buy the best raw material for making the dog food. I agree with Molly on the Canidae. It changed. I found a really cool dog food called Dog Lover's Gold. It's awesome but too expensive for 11 dogs.

i believe eukanuba contains allergens; never tried it though; like i mentioned before, chicken soup is premium food at a very good price; agree with eichenluft; coats are shiny and the dog is very healthy, kosta

I use Royal Canine GSD #24, works great for me, nice coats, healthy skin, firm stools. I've also used Eukanuba and liked it, but my picky eater likes Royal Canine better. I did use Euk premium performence to gain weight on a skinny dog, worked great, however I wouldn't use it on a normal weight dog unless they were a sheep herder, the fat and protein content is too high.
