Thank you again for constantly reminding us what you have to offer this forum. Have you figured out why 95% of the topics you post do not get a response yet?
I couldn't say it better than Alboe "Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt !"
The doubt is long gone.

Removed by GSD. We do not need to call moderators names or flame any moderator.
Do not edit this box again.
. But one moderator did say, that it is not always the last person to comment on a thread, that is correct or the smartest person....That coming from a moderator restored faith in the effort some mods do make....My hats off to that moderator.....You deserve respect.....
I am not trying to start trouble just stating an opinion..This is not a threat to the forum, as my words have been twisted around before..... It would not surprise me that I be slapped in the face and this be removed...It would be nothing new....Seems that is standard for someone stating their opinion thats not accepted by certain members of the admin board.. It is usually the same ones all the time....That is their privilege and power to control this forum and its member's opinions.....If this is deleted so be it....At this point in time, does it really matter.....NO, it doesn't!!!!

The value of this site as a resource is the database, not the forum, and most people's time would be better spent working with their dogs than posting here. Having said that, the forum could be a resource for obtaining information regarding health or training issues but it has become an exercise in futility spending one's time thoughtfully formulating a post that may or may not end up as part of a thread that gets deleted anyway.

As the Mods have stated -- they are here to stay! They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Overall they have done a good job. Recently, the Mods have been bashed over the Deleting of Threads or Locking of Threads. It is no "big deal" to me, but if I had my "druthers" it would be for the "Locking" -- that way other Posters can see the REASON that the Thread had to be locked; it would be evident where the "downhill turning point happened and which Poster(s) caused it to happen.
I can understand that some Posters feel angry that their Posts or Threads have been removed....it is only natural to feel that way. However, if Posters won't stay on topic or even "close" to staying on topic, then there is a problem. In other words, if Posters start fighting with each other instead of disagreeing over the Topic's subject, then the Thread is "DOA.."
I have noticed that there is still a "handful" of Posters who will not "move on with their lives" and keep wanting to start a fight -- as the Mods stated "passive-aggressive." Advice to those with a vendetta: Grow Up.

The evolution of the forum has been explained to you many times. It is not the place of the Janie-come-lately's to dictate to the forum veterans where it is and isn't appropriate for them to post.
"Recently, the Mods have been bashed over the Deleting of Threads or Locking of Threads."
I brought the subject up recently and wasn't involved in the thread at all. What was annoying to me was that the thread was deemed to be off-topic but was only locked after the mod who did so had commented to it him/herself. Do you understand why this might be an issue?

Keith -- I made a suggestion regarding the Bookmarking -- I definitely am not dictating anything. I am well aware of the "evolution" of the Forum. The fact that Oli created a Breed-Specific Section should be applauded.
Regarding "Janie-come-lately's -- I hope you don't feel that newer members are trying to displace "old-timers." New members will always be joining....inevitable. How one accepts that fact is up to them.
Peace

I don't think anyone "bashed" the mods over locking & deletions, I think they just voiced their displeasure.
It's just not worth composing a long thorough post on any dog related subject if posts are going to be deleted. Simply punish the offenders.
If a bank gets robbed, do you delete the bank? No you simply catch the people that comitted the crime and punish them.
As far as locking threads, just because an interesting thread has slowed down (posting wise) doesn't mean it won't catch fire again. When certain posters start to stray and bicker, well warn them, punish them, ban them whatever it takes. But locking the thread isn't the answer IMO.
I know it's not easy being a Mod, because no matter what you do someone will bitch. But the present situation is driving away good knowledgeable members, or making them hold back simply because they fear the thread will be deleted or locked.
I simply can't imagine anyone bitching about someone who acts like a complete ass and gets punished. That would be consistency, whack the offenders not the thread or subject matter.

Seriously though, if people have left because of Mods, New Members, Claims of not being able to "find dog-related discussions (that one is really hilarious) or for whatever reason -- that was Their CHOICE !
