I didn't think that the GSD Winner was "over-angulated" -- could not get a real good look at her because she wasn't on camera very long.

I was also very disappointed in the GSD - spooky, and of course down on it's hocks and pasterns, and narrow head..... - I haven't had a "problem" watching the dogs that Jimmy Moses has handled in the past years - mainly Dallas and his offspring - looks like that trend (less angulation, more bone, better temperament) is going downhill again judging on this dog showing tonight.

They sure are pretty...I actually liked the female that placed first. She was my first choice....Very nice color and movement IMO....: )

            Sue,,,thanks for the link...: )

molly, the folks that do these shows also recognize the faults you mention and have started out crossing to the German dogs for color, bone, substance, type and better character.

They have bred themselves into such a hole, there is no where left to go.

The winning handler is a Jimmy protege. I like Jimmy a lot and love Sheree, but the GSD's you saw in this show, he has brought about in the U.S.

Rik, You are so right....Actually that bitch wasn't bad for what the American showline has become today... I liked another dog better, but thats my opinion....All that matters is the direction the finger on the judges hand points to that day....

Rik, do you remember Custom Made and Manhatten? Now those were typey and boy could they put on a show....They demanded your attention.... I would love to see that basic  type again for the all breed ring..Of course, some variations would be nice also...But the basic type as in substance, sex characteristics and temperament is badly needed....I believe the only way to get some of those things again, is to bring in the German S/L...JMO

Don't worry Rik, you aren't the only one getting out of touch..We are all getting older..Yeah, I didn't recognize no one else either...

From what I understand Jimmy Moses is going to quit handling and start judging.

Yes, I have heard that also about Jimmy.....Not sure if that is a good thing or not....From what I remember, , he talked about one kind of standard, but seemed to breed something different.....So as a judge, it would be anybodies guess as to if thats a good thing or not..JMO

the dog shown was on the "hocks"in the initial stack, and the ears were placed"east/west",a bit too loose in front on the down and back...i looked at the breed judgeing and saw a couple of others that i liked better, and overall they seem to be "improving their game",(to an extent) but in the end it was the "usual suspect" that was chossen to represent the breed...i wasn't impressed, but i'm not the judge.

I admit it has been a few years since I have looked at any GSDs in the AKC ring, but this group overall was a HUGE improvement compared to what I remember seeing last. I hope this trend continues as Rik suggested.

Oops! I missed it. I was busy watching an infomercial on "How not to waste one's time". Kinda like watching NASCAR without the excitement. They go in a circle, but nobody crashes.
