PDB USE AND CONTENT

You may not

•have multiple identities--multiple user names will be banned.

             THEN

Let me clarify this for you, MaggieMae:

A member may not use multiple screen names, for example you can't be MaggieMae1, MaggieMae2, MaggieMae3, etc..   This has nothing to do with verifying whether or not a person's alias is their actual legal name, which  is not a moderators job.

If this is still confusing you, please feel free to PM me.

Maggie the comment made by the moderator meant they wouldn't determine who used their real name or an alias. IMO

Not who has multiple aliases!

Yes, I realize that Ninja.....but to me it appears to be in conflict with the TOS regarding the "banning of Multiple Identities" (which I posted above).

Maggie,

You may not

•have multiple identities--multiple user names will be banned.

This is correct: Meaning that you could not post under MaggieMae and lets say RedSable.

This is also correct meaning if you say your real name is Ruth Smith and you post only under Ruth Smith they are not going to verify that you are actually Ruth Smith.

This is how I read what they are saying.

Sueincc,
I'm in agreement with you about the Internet.....Guess its up to each individual what he thinks is appropriate to post or not post......Now that I see it in a different light, it may not be a bad thing at all.....It does prove  who has the best interest of educating the novice and who doesn't really care....Also what people post is a reflection of their personalities.......Thanks Sue for expressing it that way......I surely do see it differently...

In my opinion the meaning of mulitple usernames means, one person creating more than ONE username for themselves and than posting under those different names at different times to make people think they are not the same person........Also a person could post under different usernames at the same time by using different IP addresses with more than one system ...That was already discussed on how  it was possible, several months ago.....Hope this helps to understand alittle better....

That is the way I see it too.............has nothing to do with verifying real names

Exactly, which is why my statement about moderators not being able to verify a persons legal name as opposed to an alias, has nothing to do with TOS clause regarding multiple screen names.

Can't even think of a good rationalization to depict in theory what should come out of this forum. I''m new and I don't hang out individuals' dirty laundry but I'm a researcher also. I spent a few days a couple of times going back in the archives, years, and noticed "tensions" amongst individuals even back then.

IMO there's a wealth of information here and it depends how one uses it. My daddy always said "experience is the best teacher" so one needs to get their feet wet to see/learn firsthand. Human nature is always going to be human nature. And sometimes "things" are like a paradigm and stay that way because no one changes or wants to change. It, IMO, boils down to the individual......... and how an individual gives information and how another receives it. We all can't give it the same way and we all can't receive it the same way! I believe we have a good idea of who the assholes are but my version could be different then yours or the next person and so forth? It's like a teaching; "try and take the best from an individual and overlook the bad". Sometimes easier said than done. So try and take the best from the PDB and overlook the bad. Confrontation at times due to the situation/scenario is hard to avoid. At leas for me.

Everyone will not be happy all of the time..........It's impossible! And yes certain topics, it would be nice if they were straight on. But things can't be a regiment, not when certain individuals were never programmed that way. There's people who have me crying with laughter yet someone else could despise that same person. There's people and topics I look forward to or anticipate more than others. Then there are a couple who are like HEMORRHOIDS - They won't kill you but they are definitely a pain in the ass! I for one know some things I didn't due to the PDB or members of the PDB so to/for me it's already a positive. And yes certain people appear to have no lives or this is their life? And when they cross that line they need to be spanked. Now who determines that line? I think that is where we have one of our problems.   I would love to have a once a year thing (like Saturn) where everybody meets at a central location........................ Then we can see who walks the walk and ....................................... But overall it's human nature this push and pull or tug of war with information, mentalities, experiences and backgrounds with personalities.

IMO, it would be a lot of work but it would be nice to see like "sub categories" in effect and say when we talk about working line dogs or working dogs  we can pick each other brains for training venues, practicals, real world situations etc. And for those sub categories you MUST meet the credentials/qualifications of the said part. I for one know very little on the aspect of show lines so my comments are very few and usually a question of sorts. I love the dog but my mentality is I can't offer concrete tried and true information so I don't. Am I willing to learn? Hell yes, but not firsthand as to have a show line GSD. At this point in life it just doesn't fit into the game plan I'm trying to accomplish.

In closing....................................... Try to take the negativity with a grain of salt. I know................... easier said than done. And if their is animosity state exactly what it is that is causing it. Sure you can PM/e-mail. You just might have to stress your point to the individual so others can see and acknowledge?
