Marine mom,
I'm just curious as to how differant people would define faith , compared to how bible faith is defined in Hebrews. No trick question but relevant.

 Marine Mom,

Just stop watching television and sitting on the Internet and your brain will rewire to normalcy again

The world is not coming to an end anytime soon. So enjoy and keep learning and stay focussed in life just keep doing what you are passionate about and you will not have any problems

cheers

Hank,

Very good point.  Hmmmm.  Would make for an interesting read.  Maybe we will get some input

For the sake of the thread, lets just say.

For me personally, very short definition, it is : all believing in things that can not be seen, things that speak to the spirit and heart of a man, that basic flesh can not understand.

Vikram,

Try to go on the light side here.  It is just a thread thrown out there. I never said in this thread the world was coming to an end.  I just created a thread with the question due to the nature of all the hype in the media, Hollywood, and believers in 2012, or Nostradamus.

Please try to contribute to the thread and not make this personal with me.

Thanks
MarineMom

foot note:  I personally do not believe the world is coming to an end.

Usually when I ask that question even in a bible believing church, the responses are really varied. Some say faith is what I believe, some say my religion , always alot of definitions of faith. Bible faith is explained in Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If you are like I was My thought was I don't have a clue, Untill you translate a couple of words from the greek that the new testament was translated from. The 2 words are substance, and hoped. The word substance comes from the greek word " hupostasis" which means a setting under or support or a foundation. The word hoped is from the Greek word " elspizo" which means expect or expectation, to anticipate with pleasure. So translated correctly would read.  Now faith is the support or foundation for things expected the evidence not being seen. Romans10: 17 Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So the only support or foundation for bible faith is the word of God. And thats a good thing because
The word of God produces Faith
Faith then produces hope
Hope then produces peace
Peace produces joy
Joy produces strength
And strength brings victory

One thing people should take into consideration.  People look at Revelation as the "apocalypse". Which it does translate, but they think these signs are all literal, when they are figurative.  There is a video going around on the internet from MSNBC that shows a "pale horseman" riding through Lybia during all the rage going on out there.  If you know anything about cameras you can clearly see it's just a reflection. But it's made so many people think it's one of the horseman and just showing how much closer we are to the end............The thing is the scriptures clearly say we don't know when the hour will be.  And from what I heard about the 2012 date, someone said that was not calculated right and it should have already come 200 years ago.  Whether the world does end in 2012, if you are ready to go to Heaven then there should be no worry.
