no pics,
but coming from a military/outlaw family, we've all owned guns.
all mine are old pawnshop finds, but am looking to buy a new lever action rifle .357 caliber with option to fire .38's. maybe a B-day present :)
one of the few houses on my street thats not had the house broken into this past year. but having several big gsd between the driveway and the front door helps.
plus I've defeted DOOM and extreme level.

Interesting thread.  I am a Firearms Instructor and carry am M4, shotgun, and a 40 cal semi auto every day for work.  I can shoot all of them very well.  I also get take lots of guns off the street and meet many armed citizens on traffic stops and search warrants.  The bulk of these citizens have no business owning or carrying firearms.  I confiscate many of these "legal" firearms and have them placed into our property and evidence storage building for testing, safe keeping or evidence.

I do not hunt animals but I am always armed.  I have a semi auto pistol for off duty carry in addition to my duty weapon.  I do not leave my house unarmed as I have met many suspects, gang members and individuals I have arrested off duty.

I have extensive firearms training and train regularly, I have been shot at and involved in shootings.  I am on my Dept's SWAT team with my dog.  I have done over a hundred search warrants and vehicle take downs. I have some real world experience with firearms and been in the situation to shoot someone several times.  I do not think the average citizen needs to be carrying a firearm with them unless they have extensive training.  99% of the citizens I meet with firearms are drug dealers or drug users, I rarely meet a stand up citizen with a firearm when working.  However, the laws apply to everyone...even those committing crimes that just haven't been caught or convicted as of yet.

carrying weapons and owning weapons.......2 entirely different things.  all the neighbors, us included, have guns and dogs.  it gets kinda noisy out here at times.  30-06 and .308 are pretty loud, but none of us have ever been broken in to.  someone would have to have a deathwish to mess around here.

Yes, we own several. Just waiting on my CCW to go though and I will carry. I have a .380 and I can use it very well. I am also very proficient with a rifle. We have a few of each.

I would rather be armed and never need to use it then not armed and wish I was.

I don't know much about guns (have never owned one nor shot one).   Therefore, I don't know how this will affect gun ownership in the U.S.

I have a revolver and had training for 6 weeks in its use.  I used to go to a local firing range to practice and was a very, very good shot...at least with paper targets.  I was good enough for the Range Master to attempt to recruit me for competitive shooting.  I had a CCW (ran out and got it when I bought the gun), but let it lapse.  The fact is that I don't really have any need to carry a gun.  If you live in a major city and must enter many of the public buildings, you cannot do it with a gun in your possession, anyway.  So, what are you going to do with it--leave it in the car, the most likely place from which it could be stolen?  (I say this as a person whose vehicle was "car prowled" six times in four months once).  Really not much point.

I haven't been to a firing range in years.  Now, if I had a Sig Sauer...

I plan on getting my CCW soon and will carry where allowed.  Funny thing, here in Kansas we are seeing more and more businesses posting signs stating CCW welcome.  People are catching on that the "No Guns" signs basically tell the bad guys "Come on in, no one here is armed." Altho...it is legal for the business owner to carry and defend his property.  And I do own several guns and I know how to use them.  Target practice is a fun past time around here.
