I have changed my address, email everything. I am hidden, I don't want to go to the police, because then he will find out where I live. He has even created a website to trash me. I have tried to get the website removed, but they won't. Any suggestions?

Hmmmmmmnnnnnnnn? For your first 12 posts and now this! First, don't even know if this is legit or EVEN if you are legit! But we''l take a stroll down this path.

And if you don't like my tone then maybe you'll wake up.

YOU ARE NOT HIDDEN! EVER! So don't think that and don't get a false sense of security. If you don't go to the police it never happened. And when you're lying in that casket and he's in jail; Who won?

The website? It's not against the law to trash someone. The hardest thing in life is seeing how the "average everyday" person thinks or believes the police should act/how they should do their job/or even know what they can or can not do! The police are there for "criminal" acts - not "civil" acts. And you need a paper trail. Do you really think this SCHMUCK is losing any sleep over this/you? But if you are legit and this is real I can bet you are definitely losing some sleep; To say the least. IF, IF you take this situation lightly or take this ex lightly. Make an appointment with your County Coroner and ask to be called back when a couple of corpses from either stalkers or stalkers being their ex are there and have a look at them.

You're playing with fire......................................... get a PPD!

by hexe on 13 March 2011 - 05:03

alboe2009, if the OP is really legit about this, wouldn't it be wiser to get a handgun, learn how to use it, and then get the CCW permit--after all, she can't take a PPD on her job, most likely, but she could *probably* take a handgun if it's carried discreetly.  If she's armed, then any sort of dog that will alert bark will be sufficient to let her know if someone's prowling around outside the house...

That's an idea. Forgive me, but I don't know what a CCW permit is. Also, about the website. It is different for girls, getting a reputation of slut and having to work in a male dominated office. If you complain you are seen as weak.

CCW Permit= Carry Concealed Weapon Permit

You have to successfully complete a special class in order to obtain this permit (unless you're in a state that prohibits anyone from having such a permit).

Edited to add:  Re the website, you could try contacting whoever is hosting the webpage and demand they discontinue it.  Might work, might not, but it's worth a try.

hexe,

First, need to know where she is. If she is in America, then need to know state. States are different. Laws are different, some are under "Common Law" and others are not. D.C. is not a state and goes under something different. Without knowing those things I can not give exact advice. But I'll try and answer your questions;

Carrying a CCW is not as simple as "carrying a CCW". Say Arizona, Texas, Pennsylvania and I'm sure other states included: You have no record preventing you from a CCW, pay a fee and have a current photo and BAM, you now have a CCW. My state, Maryland. You MUST have three documented  threats or attempts against ones life, place of business etc. DOCUMENTED; Police reports, Emergency Room visits etc., etc  Learning how to use it just doesn't happen overnight and for some the fear of whatever threat they are up against makes them unable to think let alone use the weapon. And will likely get them hurt or killed in the process with their own weapon.

Too many variables to this story, we don't even know what her job is, but if it's true she needs documentation I hate playing Devils' Advocate or "what ifs" but she has a gun in her house, the dogs are barking, someone's outdoors, she grabs the gun, she's freaking out, she goes outside and teenagers are toilet papering her property. A kid runs around the corner of the house near/towards her and she fires................

I will do the research on a concealed weapons permit myself, so as not to give away my location. I have my dog, actually his dog and my boyfriend, but as Hexe said they can't always be with me.

by hexe on 13 March 2011 - 06:03

alboe2009, can't argue with you re all the variables and missing info--in MI, it doesn't take much to get the CCW...pretty much what you describe for AZ, TX, PA, plus completion of the CCW course.  I know MD is much tougher, as is NJ, but figure the OP shouldn't be disclosing where she located on an Internet messageboard.

All anyone can do from a messageboard is offer suggestions, though; it's up to the OP to do the research as to whether she can get a permit for a handgun, to determine if she's capable of learning how to use a firearm, and decide if that's the best route for her to go.  Given your occupation (since you mentioned the low light in the cruiser elsewhere), I can understand why you'd (a) be hesitant to even mention getting a handgun, and (b) envision the worst case scenario you outlined, though.  I imagine that from your viewpoint, there aren't too many ways a situation such as what the OP is describing will turn out in a good way, and I'd be inclined to agree.  True stalkers generally don't quit until they're dead, or the object of their obsession is...bad all around.

What amazes me the most in life is humans....... One day you're in love with this person and the next something along the lines of this. How is that possible? "There is a thin line between love and hate".

Unfortunately you read, or even know of someone who even with a "Protective Order" or a "Cease and Desist Order" individuals are still being hurt or killed. Those things are just pieces of paper and mean nothing to the individual who wants to hurt you for whatever reason.

OP! Do not take this matter lightly! Check with a local College for courses in self protection, (i.e.; The Red Man) Check with your local P.D. And start documenting . Dates, times, voice mails, e-mails, keep everything. And do not think you can outsmart this person and turn things around on him and play his game.

I'm not even going to suggest the possibilities of why you haven't approached the police. You can enlighten us or me if you choose. I have no idea how smart this ex is or even how smart you are or think you are. You only get one life.

Hexe, are you in Michigan? I'm originally from Saginaw. How's the weather? How's the economy" Seperated from the military in '91 came back from Germany and had no idea Michigan was as bad as it was............. Such a shame.
