Right Shelley,
Thats why my friend is having the shelter manager contact her on Friday to update her on his placement. She is not the type of person to say things and then when all is better , forget about it.
I am hoping that someone down there can take him and give him a great home. A lot can happen between now and Friday.
Keep the faith!!!

Apparently he perks right up when he is out of the kennel run. Delightful to be around. I wish I had asked for a more accurate age assessment this morning. He might make a decent LE prospect if he isn't too old. who knows?

Hi all ; I sent an email to the shelter but have yet to hear anything from them. I will be glad to accept him. just cant see that outrageous fee...He would make an awesome K9. I can already see a great tracking career. WISH I had him this morning !!!  Had a suspect run from a local officer and NO k9 available for awhile.... UGHHHHHHHHHH

lakewood..what ever happened to that female GSD from Craiglist that you got from a college boy who wanted his dog back?

Update:

We decided to adopt him, so I called back this morning to arrange that, but a lady from Colorado is first in line for him and trying to arrange transport.  I'm second in line if that doesn't work out.  Someone else called after me yesterday and is third in line, and a rescue called for him.  Shelter lady said he is definitely safe now.  She also said she took him out for a walk and he walks great on a leash and has very good manners.  I'm a little disappointed now that we decided to take him, but it's nice to know he will have a home in Colorado.  Shelter lady said she would call me back later tonight or tomorrow to let me know if the Colorado transport worked or not.

Our friend Julie B. is traveling to the shelter to take pix and videos of "Bud" (I hate that name) on Friday. I will be posting them on my FB wall and forwarding them to interested persons via e-mail as soon as she sends them to me.

I have a pre-paid AKC DNA swab kit I would donate to whomever adopts this boy so maybe we can find out who he is. Results of these tests, performed by rescue folks, are getting more interesting every day. Look for them to be published in future.

He will likely be gone by Friday.  Whoever gets him, he's going to the vet tomorrow for neutering, and he will be released on Friday.  If I get him,  I'll be there Friday morning to get him.

Well keep us in the loop. I don't know who is who behind screen names, but I do know a number of people plan to be there on Friday, taking off work early. I'd hate to see someone drive all the way from, say, Ohio, to find out halfway there that the dog is gone.

Update: I'm picking him up tomorrow from the vet clinic after his neuter.

Thats great, Asja!!   Are you going to be his forever home? I thought I remember reading you wanted to adopt him?
Thanks for the update!
Donna
