Seeker of Truth

"Brittany did make a few valid points, just went over the top a bit."
PLEASE!!! Don't encourage her!!

"I'm going to say that the chances of getting other than a well bred puppy from Germany if one doesn't go them self, know someone well connected or have a very good idea what they are doing, are about the same as getting something past a good pet in the U.S. Slim to none."
Rik, the fact is that there are rarely more then one or two TOP prospects in ANY litter, regardless of the Country they are born in.
There aren't many good breeders in the U.S. or Germany/Europe that are going to part with these top puppies.
It's also a fact that the better dogs (broods and studs) are in Germany/Europe.
It's also a fact that when you consider in the sales price and shippinbg cost you will still wind up paying the going rate of about $2,000.00 for a pup from a quality breeding, whether the pup comes from Germany/Europe or the U.S.
All that being said, I think the typical "Crap Shoot" puppy will be of better quality when coming from Germany/Europe just because of the better quality breeding stock over there.

If you are serious about placing well at the shows or scoring high points at the trials or having a future "Breed Worthy" dog in your kennel then starting with a puppy is not the way to do it.
Be resigned to the fact that when you purchase a puppy you are in all probabability purchasing a "Pet Quality" companion.
YES....there are some people that have been "Lucky" and wound up with a good one but the chances of that happening are VERY slim.
