No longer an investment? Perhaps the owner lost their home and could not keep the dog in rental? Or perhaps a health issue in dog so not longer usable to them? The dog has been ruined by poor handling has mental issues now? These are the main reasons they always end up dumped after someone invested so much in getting them.

In the video they have of him, looks like the handler is the owner of Kraftwerk K9

Look at the videos linked at the bottom of the page. Nothing wrong with this dog's work. His obedience is trial ready by the look of it.  He even works well for a little girl in the 2nd clip.

GSDNewbie, That is still not an excuse to dump a dog into a shelter. If this dog was sold by a responsible person in germany this dog would of been shipped right back to where he came from instead of being dumped into the shelter. If this dog was imported by Kraftwerk K9 then they need to pickup the dog and take him back to their kennel.

When I sold my puppies to their new owners I had told them up front that if anything were to happen that the dogs must be returned back to me at anytime.

Edited: Also it seems like a Kraftwerk dog, Nixi is also in a rescue shelter http://germanshepherds.cc/ads-227/nixi-vom-kraftwerks-.html

Brittany, it seems quite clear that GSDNewbie is merely citing the common reasons, not condoning the action.

if strauss-khan could be detain, what's so wrong with a titled being in a shelter. I wonder if u guys think every schl dog has a permanent work doing. A dog could be titled but yet sit in one sily kennel all day long. If every titled dog is such a big deal, then, they should equally be working, which means, every breeder should be a farmer and own sheep or cattle n live in one country side. I live in a relatively fair city n it doesn't matter if my dog works or not. Lol

brittany, I never said any of this was excusable, I was just supplying the same old tired reasons we always hear. I also do not support brokers like Kraftwerk.
