Not to beat a dead horse, but can anyone clearly explain or point me to the specific rules that spell this out please? Can WDA members participate in USA trials and shows? Is there an additional fee or something like that? I have e-mailed USA and am waiting on a reply, but I thought someone here may have the answer. Thanks! Theresa

Can anyone clearly explain? I doubt it. I'll give it a try.

Basically WDA members can participate in USA trials and shows. The WUSV club affiliation will get you through most situations. WDA members cannot utilize the services of the USA office. Breed surveys, 'a' stamp program are two examples of services where you would need to be a USA member.

If a dog is co owned by a USA and WDA member, the dog can be entered by the USA member.

Ok, so you seemed to make it fairly simple. Let me ask you then, I am a WDA member, no affiliation to USA at all. I can order a scorebook from USA, and go to a USA club trial and earn titlea under an SV judge? I would guess there is an added fee of some sort maybe? I found a trial I would like to enter. It is USA. I looked at the entry form and there was no blovk for non USA members, only USA member number. Thanks for the help. Theresa

The USA scorebook is an obstacle. You will not be able to order a USA scorebook as it is a USA service. You can get one of the GSDCA-WDA scorebooks as a WDA member. This scorebook is accepted by USA. You may need to have it certified through the USA office.

Well alright, I have a WDA scorebook. Thanks a bunch!

Hmmm.....I have started a few threads about this.  My understanding is that USA will not recognize WDA titles.....and they do not even recognize WDA at all.  So for me that translates to....you have a SCHIII from a WDA judge, it means nothing to USA.....unless you have a SV judge sign off on it.  So yes you can go.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  GSDCA-WDA also offers "a" stamp and breed survey programs.

I "believe" as long as they are achieved under an SV judge I think you are good on either side...right?

That is my understanding.

The concept that USA does not recognize WDA titles is a holdover from the previous USA attempt in 2003. The SV squished that. The SV said you WILL recognize all results from SV judges.

Most of the WDA events are judged by SV judges so for the most part you are fine at WDA events. You results should be recognized universally. The USA results can be a different story. USA trial results are recognized in Germany if the judge was an SV judge or one of the USA SVR (SV Recognized) judges. Some are, some are not.

In Theresa's case, if the trial is a USA trial with a USA SVR judge or an SV judge, you're good to go. If it's a USA judge that is not a SVR judge. The results may not be recognized universally.

The WDA scorebook is not valid at USA events. USA will not certify a WDA scorebook. The new GSDCA-WDA scorebooks are USA accepted as the GSDCA is a WUSV member. If you have a WDA scorebook, I believe the WDA will exchange it for a GSDCA-WDA scorebook.

Can anyone explain it clearly? I'm still not sure.

Great, thanks Randy and Heidi!
