First and foremost we must remember or come to the realization that schutzhund is a thinking game. you must be able to see what your dog is doing, why he/she is doing it, then come up w/ an appropiate plan. If yore not capable of doing that all the seminars in the world wont help. Often when people go to seminars they come back w/ a new technique, just to be lost and confused when a new problem pops up and no one is there to hold their hand. Ive seen people who have been involved in schutzhund for 10+ years that just dont get it, they can quote every method known to man, the Ivan method, the Helmut method, the Dildi (sp) method, yet they accomplish nothing outside of thier local club. having said that IMO the best seminars ive been to were Helmute Raiser, and Bernhard Flinks for the lecture. and Dean Calderon for the most profound statement ive ever heard a seminar, "there is no perfect dog, only perfect training" he was trying to get across that all dogs have flaws, so you will come closer to findig a perfect training method for an individual dog before you find a perfect dog. some dogs require the prong collar, some e-collar and yet others a stern NO. if you give the latter heavy e-collar, that would fall in the catagory of sh*t training. i didnt fully appreciate the Helmut Seminar in atlanta until month later when i was watching old tape and thinking about old training plans. Ive since changed my training to incorporate a lot of his theory. not all his theory but a lot of it. i would highly suggest Helmute Raiser, and Bernhard Flinks

Good point about using someone who is in the US Can we have a "in the US" list with specialties (tracking, obedience, protection)? This being for smaller clubs that have limited funds or not many people in the sport in their area, but would still like to put on a seminar for their members.

"in the US", Steve Miller. Mr. Miller officiated our WDA affiliation trial and Helper seminar. He is well versed in all three phases. He has been in the sport for decades. He is one of the old school trainers that has adapted, improvised and changed with the times. Not many trainers with his time "in" the sport are accepting of new methods. Dean Calderone, very professional and knowledgeable in all three phases. Has the ability to explain why he is doing what he is doing in a clear, concise easy to understand manner. T-Floyd, who has a more impressive win record with different dogs?! Don't be hatin', LOL! The add his students put in the USA magazine speaks volumes. He's hard on handlers that are not paying attention. If you pay attention you will learn. Kyle

OMG Melissa-That episode of South Park was hilarious!!!! I would like to attend a Roland Siebel seminar. I would recommend Ivan Balabanov, Joanne Fleming-Plumb & Raino Flügge, as they put on GREAT Seminars.

Pat Brown-John. Someone great for obedience(especially dumbells), handling, raising pups(all of her top competition dogs are raised from pups), building drive, all types of problem solving, and vast knowledge of preparing dogs for competing and all aspects of all phases. Hands on teaching with good explanation. Incredible knowledge and experience. I feel she can be mentioned with some of the best. I'm sure also much cheaper then most mentioned. But its unfortunate that many people will not want to learn from women
