A message of caution to anyone who is interested in buying a GSD from this kennel in Wash State. My advise would be to approach with extreme caution with an attorney on retainer, if at all. In my humble opinion, from my experience in buying a dog from Wayne Curry, you would be better off buying from one of the many other caring, responsible and ethical kennels in our nation. The expression, "Caveat emptor" applies big time here.

why? can you inform a little more? not that i'm intending to spend 2.5k in a pup anytime soon (armed robbery), but what the heck do you want for that amount of money? there'll always be people in this country who will pay that much; this is a free country so let them charge whatever they want... and pay... :) kosta

The old saying goes you can please most of the people most of the time but you can't please everyone all the time. I don't know any of you but I know this... we all have had deals go wrong for what ever reasons no one is prefect. And there is always two sides to a coin

Diana, I never consider buying a dog from any of the big outfits many of which are operated as a business. Some make good on sales gone bad and some do not thats the chance you take. Try to stay small and look to the hobby breeders or concientous ones in Germany that have good reps, you will be better off.

Diana7788 if you want to throw somone under the bus atleast explain what happened. It's too easy to ruin someones reputation. As far as we know, you were the one in the wrong in this business transaction. I'm not saying who was right or wrong. I can't have an opinion because both sides of the facts are not on the table. Thanks for the tip to do my homework before dealing with him. But that is what we all should do before dealing with anyone. He does have some nice dogs on his wesite and does charge a premium. I personally would never pay 3k for a puppy, or an untitled dog for that matter. Kyle

Diana, aren't you the one who bought (for mucho buckos)an adult dog from Kraftwerk, and assured by them the dog was good with cats - and the dog killed your cat?

Yep, She posted back in May.

Diana, I read the thread you started back in May; there's a comment by d.h., wherein if your situation had it happened with some foreign kennel everyone would be up in arms... and she's right. i sympathize with you and your situation. sounds you asked whoever the Curry guy is about whether the dog would be fine with cats; i got a hold of his website to notice the guy takes advantage of numerous innocent buyers who willingly pay 2.5k for a working pup... (good luck; odds of that pup to become a high level prospect are probably 1/1000); us americans are very gullible unfortunately. I'm sorry but you sound very naive, and it sounds the guy is basically a car (dog) salesman... "let them work it out" or the guy guaranteeing you the dog would be fine with cats; that kind of comments should've put you on the lookout because they basically stink like decomp... like someone else mentioned, there were 3k involved in the sale. i'm sorry but i think you're naive by actually not using common sense and not having exercised extreme common sense and caution when introducing your late cat to the dog and following faithfully what the Curry had said... I would be extremely pissed also that someone had taken advantage of me that way... when i buy a car, i ask the most annoying, stupid, most common sensical questions to the dealer, to the point of eliciting discomfort (it's kind of like when you go to the airport and they ask you things such as "are you carrying bombs or weapons in your purse...)... the same should've been done in the case of this dog broker... you can always use this answers to these questions in a court of law. sounds you don't have a solid proof, but i believe situations like you happen always; but guess what, The Curry doesn't give a crap about your problem.. gee i rambled... i just hate when people take advantage of other people's innocence... kosta

Kosta, Thank you for understanding. Yes, I was naive and foolishing too trusting. The only reason i posted today's message was to warn anyone who considers Wayne Curry's kennel. Since my posting in May, i have heard privately from a surprisingly large number of people who also experienced bad dealings with Wayne Curry's Kraftwerk kennel. I also ended up getting a GSD who was sold to me as being ok with cats. Guess what, he's great with my 2 remaining cats, just as warranted. I got screwed by WC and didn't enjoy a minute of it!

by makgas on 04 August 2006 - 20:08

from the way it sounds in your thread from May, Curry guy sounds like an unscrupulous broker with a pretty website full of pretty dogs that cost a lot of greenbacks; the whole thread stunk like politics where everybody seems to back this curry guy. IT's not that a lot of people have experienced bad dealings with WC; it's the people who put a lot of high hopes in what they deposited so much trust, and money... to me "being okay with cats" means just that... "being okay with cats"; know what you mean, and WC knew it too; there's just too many hypocrites; unfortunately, you can't prove it; learn from the experience and move on...
