i agree some of the salztalblick dogs in frankfurt are still representative of the breed... you don't see them here in the u.s.

Makas, Some dogs are sport dogs I know what you are trying to say and once the sleeve is removed then they would not bite training or not that would be temperament. I do not think helper work can influence what that dog will do in terms of civil. A good helper can mask some dogs working in prey only and make them shine for sure but when all of the sport is over will that dog do protection if needed. I like a hard dog always have and yet I want a stable dog as well that can be approached and around children. Too many dogs are labled hard that are not I agree on that. My stud dog is a hard dog yet he has impeccable temperament and I would never be afraid to let him around children but if I needed true protection I could not get a better dog for the job. I know very few dogs that throw hard dogs currently here are a few that come to my mind. Ufo Van Guy;s Hof, Zidane, Zender, Olex and a dog in Texas that his name I cannot remember now. I am sure there are more but these come to my mind as being real dogs with good civil aggression suitable for Police/Schutzhund both. A lot of people mistake a dog who growls when it sees a stranger and acts a fool as a hard dog and this is not the case but a nerve issue, a truly hard dog is confidant as well. I have seen a lot ot Police K9's that were billed as hard but looking at them it was a liitle too much fear and nerves thrown in the mix to suit me.

GOOD SPEAKING TO YOU AGAIN MAKGAS. ONE THING I WILL ADD IS THE EXPERIENCE WE ARE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW. WE ARE WORKING WITH A GUY WHO HAS A VERY AGGRESSIVE AND CIVIL MALE AND AN EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE CIVIL FEMALE(SHE IS ALL SHOW LINE BUT WAS WORKING SITES AT 7 MONTHS AND NOW IS 1.5 YEARS OLD AND THE MOST AGGRESSIVE REAL BITCH WE HAVE EVER SEEN. NOTHING EVEN COMES CLOSE.) WE GET HALF THE PUPPIES FROM THE GUY WHO HAS THESE DOGS AND NEEDLESS TO SAY OUR INTEREST WILL NOT BE SPORT. HE IS TRAINING THEM BOTH IN SCHUTZHUND AND IN COMMUNICATING WITH HIM I KNOW HE PLANS ON PATTERN TRAINING BOTH OF THEM. WHY? BECAUSE HE KNOWS THEY ARE BOTH EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND REAL AND BY DOING THIS THEY WILL STILL LOOK VERY GOOD DOING THE SPORT AND WITH A PATTERN IN THE DOG'S HEAD THE JUDGE, THE HELPER, THE GROUP THESE DOGS HAVE TO HEEL THROUGH AND THE BYSTANDERS WATCHING WILL ALL FEEL MUCH SAFER. I THINK IF SPORT PEOPLE CONSIDERED THESE DOGS AND TRAINED THEM PROPERLY THEY WOULD HAVE GREAT LOOKING SPORT CIVIL REAL DOGS. MANY CLUBS HAVE DOGS THAT SEE PROTECTION AS A GAME AND THEY WORK TO TRAIN THE DOGS WITH SOME REALITY. THESE DOGS HAVE ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS VIEW PROTECTION AS REAL AND HAVE REAL BAD INTENTIONS FOR THE HELPER AND THEREFORE FOR SAFETY SAKE NEED TO BE TAUGHT THAT IT IS A GAME SO THEY CAN STILL HAVE THE FIGHT THEY ENJOY BUT WITH MORE SAFETY BUILT IN FOR EVERYONE.

Teikerhook, Yochy, Troll, Faro, Belschik lines are all known to be harder dogs. Many others I can't come up with off the top of my head. Here are some sites I have looked into. Well put GSDONLINE makgas- I'll concure, i also believe these dogs belong with sensible people , repeat sensible, not just top handlers and trainers or military personel; but how do you know sensible people wont turn "stupid" upon leaving your driveway? It's all about covering your A$$.

THANKS 4PACK. I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE WITH AGGRESSIVE OR DEFENSIVE DOGS WALKING OUTSIDE MALLS AND INNER CITIES WITH THEIR CHEST OUT ALL "PROUD" OF THE DOG THEY HAVE AT THE END OF THE LEASH. GENERALLY I WILL TELL YOU THAT THOSE DOGS ARE NOWHERE NEAR AS STRONG AS THEIR OWNER BELIEVES OR THEY ARE PORTRAYED. 99 OR MORE OUT OF 100 BREAK WHEN PUT TO A REAL TEST--A TEST WHERE THEY ARE PUT INTO A SITUATION WHERE THEY ARE UTTERLY CONVINCED THEY WILL LOSE IF THEY CHOOSE TO FIGHT. THE SELECT FEW ARE SO FIGHT-ADDICTED THEY CHOOSE TO FIGHT ANYWAYS AND THEN WHEN THEY BEGIN TO LOSE AN EVEN SMALLER PERCENTAGE CHOOSE TO CONTIUE TO FIGHT HARDER RATHER THAN "FLIGHT"/RUN AWAY. THESE ARE THE REAL DOGS. IN REALITY WHEN SOMEONE HAS A TOP END "REAL" DOG, AN ON/OFF SWITCH ON THE DOG OR NOT, WHEN YOU SEE THEM THEY ARE ALWAYS THE LAST PEOPLE TO BRAG ABOUT THEIR DOGS AND ARE ALWAYS CAUTIOUS WITH THEIR DOGS AND ARE MOST OFTEN WORKING ON SOCIALIZING THEIR DOG RATHER THAN TRYING TO SHOW EVERYONE WHAT A DANGEROUS DOG THEY HAVE. THAT IS WHY WHEN I SEE THE "REAL-DEAL" COMMENTS I AM CAUTIOUS AND I GET TOTALLY SKEPTICAL WHEN OTHERS WHO HAVE SEEN THE REAL DEAL HAVE NOTHING GREAT TO SAY. IF I WAS TO PULL THE CANINES AND ALL OTHER TEETH OUT OF THE FEMALE WE HAD SHE WOULD STILL DO TERRIFYING DAMAGE TO AN UNPROTECTED HUMAN BEING AND AT 1.5 YEARS OLD WOULD NOT COME OFF THE SLEEVE. SHE AND HER MALE COUNTERPART HAVE BOTH BEEN TESTED "REAL". ONCE YOU SEE THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO WORK THEM DEFENSIVELY OR TOO CIVILLY ON THE FIELD. MAKE IT AS FUN AND PREDICTABLE A ROUTINE FOR THEM AS YOU CAN. WITH AGE AND IN POINTS OF STRESS THEIR NATURAL GENETIC DEFENSE WILL ALWAYS SHOW THROUGH.
