Debbie Zappia has also trained and handled some very tough dogs as well as bred, raised and trained them to the Nationals and WUSV.  The list of excellent female handlers is very long.

I'm with Susie here too. I never understand why the minute someone says anything gender related women freak out. I wish I had the man-balls to do handler work in competition (I will be soon) but it is a bit scary for me due to the crap reaction I have had from several Schutzhund man clubs or non man clubs and drama. Not my thing. I have had some fantastic dogs but the clubs have really put me off, not confidence wise but ew I don't want to sleep with you because I am the only girl in the club....Maybe that's the problem? Is it doubly hard to be an attractive woman titling a dog? I've often felt I was never taken seriously (and I talk seriously and am mega educated).

I've recently moved to the UK and am looking forward to seeing wat the clubs are like here. I think probably the men will run lol...

Are you originally from the US?  Probably tons different in the UK, men and women both.

Then show up early, and spend less time in the mirror before you go :-)

LOL Derylehret! I'm not out there in hot pants and fake eyelashes. Owning dogs has seriously hampered any style I may have had. :D Time for makeup? Maybe sunscreen and chapstick. :P Yes originally from US have not yet been to a UK club.

Try wearing burlap and warpaint.

This is rediculas, just get out there and train your dog.  Work hard and you will get the respect.  Keep your mouth shut and listen.  Respect is earned not given automatically.  If the club sees you out there busting your hump to title your dog, they will help you.  You have to remember that an established club sees many people coming and going.  Flapping jaws have a tendancy to annoy people more than their beauty.  There are lots of attractive women who title dogs, GOOOOOOOD GRIEF!!!!!!
