Shelley Strohl

The Championship was clearly won in A & B this year. Check out the video of Wallace's protection routine. http://www.wusv2006.dk/gb/index_gb.htm Holy Moly! It doesn't get much better than that! Wallace handled his dog perfectly. Notice how he approaches the dog after the outs... slowly, a little wide after the attack on handler and courage test, his body positioned a little sideways, (almost between the helper and the dog, definately between the judge and the dog on the attack on handler) circling behind the dog a little wide after the attack on handler, staying well in the preiferal vision of his dog, not so close as to worry him, but close enough that the dogs knows he must remain clean, absolutley mindful to avoid an expensive last minute dirty "tick." Notice Wallace's leg and hand positions/movements as he moves the dog away from the out position and around for the transport. No overt handler help... (okay, a little shrug of the shoulders when commanding "out" but that's natural when you're speaking that loudly) Great focus/concentration, fabulous handling by a smart, cool-headed man who KNOWS his trial-smart dog inside and out and takes NO UNNECESSARY CHANCES! I should live so long as to be that cool and precise... just doing a BH routine in a tiny club trial, somewhere out in the middle of nowhere... and NO spectators. ;) The video of that routine will go in my "Hall of Fame" collection, along with Franz Gugnon's obedience routine with that show dog, Jasko vom Stahlberg, in the '98 BSP. I nearly wore the tape and my living room carpet out trying to copy the grace and style Franz has on his about turns. LOL SS

talia, this year was a great placing for T FLoyd this yr. he got 20 place which is great.I was referring to the other 4 yrs that he has shown. When you are competive as T or any top trainer is not finishing in the top 10 at the world is a let down.I personally would be happy just showing there. Also The dog that WAllace got 3rd this yr was a H.O.T dog as well. What stands out with T's dog is the fact that he got 20th in the world with a dog he bred.Bob O. T Floyd didn't move up quickly. He has been training and competing for over 20 yrs. Most people think he just hit the scene the last 3 yrs or so.It just recently he is finally getting his just deserts. Charlie and Wallace have been around as well for 20 yrs. T is already a trainers trainer.Dean calderon has been recommending him for at least 10yrs for a tracking coach. also for those that keep up with what happen at the world. Wallace's dog Pedro gave away the world championship. They beat themselves. Pedro was one sit in motion away from winning it all. Imagine the pressure of being so close but so far away. maybe next time ceddy Ceddy

I am not an expert but i think the points were equal so combination protection score carried the day whilst it is a team event WALLACE AND PEDRO ACTUALLY CARRIED THE DAY Wallace WILL KNOW WHO I AM BUT THATS A SECRET BETWEEN diners!

Yeah...for Wallace!!!! Shelly...He has appraised our GSD and he is indeed a cool one!!! He DOES know his stuff...In his club there is of course Merlin/Pedro & Wallace with a 3rd place and high in protection 98 pts ...but don't forget Charlie & Nike with an 8th place and high in obedience 97 pts. That speaks volumes of Wallace's ability to train and to teach others...
