A breed warden to a orginization that won,t even take his money for membership ? Ya that doesnt throw up a red flag. I guess I like dogs well enough to look at them as a feeling animal and not just a way to make a living. I looked around on several websites for working dogs and havent found any posting eluding to looking for a home for a dog with issues? I know Helser surfs craigslist maybe you posted it there.

Do you place many unwantted dogs with Helser or Maybe Lorenzo Williams? They do make strange bed fellows...or not.

by zdog on 19 July 2012 - 12:07

I can't believe anybody would give a dog to this person, especially someone that should KNOW BETTER.  Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.   You can defend your actions any way you'd like, in the end, you gave a dog that needed a real chance to a known piece of garbage that couldn't train the best of dogs to do mediocre.  you really believe you gave that dog a chance??????   I expect better from people that portray themselves as you do.

And I quote from Tims you tube site:

" so as a last ditch effort to save this dog from being put to sleep Molly turned to Timothy Helser ! "

Tim sure makes it sound like you sought him out?

Aint that just so heart touching... Tim Saves the day for Molly.

Again quoted from Tims you tube:

"This Dog has never had bite training until this video was made , has never worked before other than pet obedience with Molly. "

If I,m not mistaken did,nt you try to insinuate that you spent time working with this dog to over come the issue?

I quote Molly:

"As I said, you all don't know what I did with the dog.  I had her for 6 months.I did work with her"
 """
It,s amazing the hipocrisy that this represents.

by Betty on 20 July 2012 - 05:07

Molly, you are a National Level Competitor.......... What do you think he can  do that you were unable to do in 6 months?

And I'm pretty sure you've posted a time or two about your dogs being HOT and about the medals you have gotten from USCA.  Your achievements should make you the best of the best that this country has to offer in training.

You can shrug is off all you want but for so many people a rescue dog deserves the very best in vetting it's placement.   Can you really say that this is the very best placement you could find for this girl?  A placement with someone that has years of controvesy/allegations  behind them from multiple sources?

Regardless of how this placement works out you failed this girl Molly.  If Amanda could talk I'm sure she would tell you that there are fates worse then a humane death when we place ANY dog, rescue or not, to the first person that will take them off our hands.

You sound more concerned with the release of liability to you then you do with the future of this girl.  Are you really that cavilier about it?  It's like you're just shrugging and saying "Oh well, it is what it is..."

Maybe you are a little overwhelmed with the amount of rescues and your own breeding programs.  It might be time to take a step back and consider cutting back if you feel that this was the best you could do for this girl.

Best post yet on this thread, Betty. The release of liability, hence my "Pontius Pilate" analogy is what really got to me. It's *almost* believable that maybe Molly thinks Helser isn't as bad as some think, but the nonchalance about what COULD happen/be happening to that poor girl is quite disturbing and shows a desensitization that might benefit from scaling back a bit (or a lot) until she realizes once again that these are living, feeling beings who have mental/emotional needs as well as physical. The "oh well...I tried" seems like puppy-miller thinking. I don't know Molly and I don't know Tim. I guess I don't see how giving a dog to Helser is "rescuing" though, as there are too many allegations and some of them are pretty convincing. It's more like "out of the frying pan, into the fire" than "rescuing and rehoming."

I had a really good friend who always said Molly only pretended to care about dogs and though I never cared for her personally, I believed in her own way, she did have the dogs' best interests at heart, but her tactics were often misguided. Now, I think my old pal was probably right. How much can you care about a dog and send it somewhere with even the slightest HINT of mistreatment???

by Betty on 20 July 2012 - 13:07

Whenever we place a dog or any animal we have one chance to do it right.  How well we do our job will make all the difference in the world to that living, feeling creature.

And as anyone knows that has placed animals, even when you take your time, and do it right, sometimes someone slips by you.  And who pays the price for our screw up?

I don't know TH.  I have no idea what his characater is like, or if he is a victim of a mass conspiracy.  But you know what, I don't have to know if he's scum or innocent, soley because you do not gamble with the life of an animal that you have been entrusted with.

No gambles.

If you want to rehab someone, invite them to our club, take them out to dinner, set them up with your of age sister.  Hell, ask them to run to the store and give them your bank card and pin number.

Don't gamble with the life of those that have no voice.

Some people can paint a very nice picture with words on the interent and plaster themselves all over the net.  They come off as very righteous and very ethical.  The perfect type of breeder one would be priviledged to work with.  Then you get to see how things happen in real life and actions don't really match all those eloquent words they've spent the past few years typing all over the interent.

The only thing I will say is that I thought it incredible that ANYBODY would let that child handle that dog with the issues involved AND the lack of familarity of the dog and child with each other. I dont care how dog savy that child is, if that dog attmped to bite her it could have gotten ugly before anyone could have intervened. I'll leave things at that.....the other characters in this soap opera I wont comment on.

Betty, very good post, and Jenni too.

Gustav, absolutely right too.  I'm pretty sure that little girl in the video is helser's own daughter.  Years ago I witnessed helser have his son (then aged 9 or 10?) put on the hard sleeve and take bites from Taz.  I was appalled at that too.   Maybe helser wants people to think he's got some magical control over the dogs and they won't ever harm a child.

I used to think Molly was alright, considering how nice her breeding program looked online.  But back when Shelley was trying to escape her ex and Molly offered to "help" her friend, then essentially blackmailed Shelley and refused to give her dogs back without a chunk of money, I thought that was a horrible thing to do to Shelley and her dogs.
Now this.
I've recommended Molly's kennel to people before, I won't do it again.

Is the "shit" in the title refering to Tim or Molly?
