stating the obvious vis-a-vis an 85 in any phase keeping you off the podium I was referring to what I believed Gizmo in particular would do, which...hmmmm he did!!! but in fairness to the dog (and the bloodlines) I have seen outstanding puppies from this dog!!!

The Nationals were great. Mike Diehl was solid, but Claudia missed the walking sit or would have had a 99 in Obedience. Ronny Burmer also had very nice stadium scores. There was not a lot of bitching about the judges; they were all pretty consistent. The stadium judges kept it concise and to the point. The event was ran very nicely. A lot of practice time was allowed. It appeared that the dogs and competitors were the center of attention, as it should be. Great job by Gary and Pam Hanrahan, Jeff County Sch. and a whole lot of other people.

There were many excellent, powerful dogs at this trial. And some not so much... I was pleased and thrilled to see so many outstanding, strong working females! Ronnie Burmer's Issa and Claudia Romard's Yara - two outstanding females who proved that small females are not necessarily weak and feminine! Both performed beautiful obedience, and powerful animated protection, and followed through with good tracking scores in difficult conditions as well! Two other females to take note of, also very excellent working females who proved to be so this weekend - Andres Aportella's experienced female Franka - super nice female. And Scott White's very strong female, unfortunately tracking "got" her (very difficult conditions) otherwise she would have been up in front of the pack as well. Other outstanding dogs that were powerful, drivey, clear, good temperament, all-around super working dogs IMO - Mike Diehls dogs (both of them) - John Riboni's Brix - I was so impressed with him I will be using him for my breeding program in the near future. I was also impressed by the three brothers entered in the trial - Ranger, Rasta, and Rocky Germelhaus. All three dogs showed high drive, power, and everything you want to see in an all-around sound, clear working dog. I'm sure there are some others I am neglecting to mention that I was impressed with. As for the trial itself - despite the rain (It always seems to rain down there) - this is my third trial at this facility and with this club. I can't say enough about it - excellently run and kudos to the Hanrahans and club members, regional members who put it all together. molly Eichenluft Working German Shepherds http://workinggermanshepherd.com
