Conformation-wise, Vogue is my favorite female that I've ever seen in person.

Trotting and Show Gaiting are not the same.
Trotting is the natural movement of a dog and Show Gaiting is an emphisised movement.

Like Saddlebred horses. They can trot in a field but in the showring, the rider brings their head up and ques them to go and they become more animated.

Anyone over there considered RING SIZES ?   We have two particular problems in the UK about Gaiting:
one is that many Handlers do not / will not understand that a dog moving while allowed to pull too
hard into the collar will SCRABBLE, and owners who do not take time to train the dogs to
gait smoothly then just hand them over to handlers and take pot luck on performance;
and Show Ring sizes:  whereas at most GSD Club shows, they are large enough to allow
the dogs to gait fully extended, at the all-breeds shows we still mainly get 'pocket handkerchief'
sized little squares,  and I defy any dog to move correctly under those circumstances.

there is a series of dvd's available the explain SV style showing and how to teach gaiting, i wonder if it would help is some in UK would get them, learn them and when their dogs winn others would copy?

all 3 are excellen dvd's and instruct about conformation, locomotion ad V-GSD-3 and V-GSD-4 covers training and fitting for a German style show.

With this information, you can be confident of what you have and that he/she is ready for the ring!

all breed shows will always have 40'x40' rings..... showing a GSD in such a ring is completely different than German or GSD Speciality shows.

in the US, we have AKC, GSDCA specialty and SV style shows. Each is different, with a different type of gait required.

Thanks so much VKGSDs and Ibrahim! BTW Ibrahim Ulana is the long coat shown gating on page 4 in VKGSDs post.  Those were taken down in KY earlier this spring.  As a side note, her full (identical) brother is coming up for sale. Another sad story of the owner's life changing. Am waiting on current photos of him.
Here is Vogue's stacked photo taken in Germany at the 2010 BSZS.
