ther is a lot of good breeders, specially the small ones ,there is pets at hom with unknown lines witch in good hands would be a world champions.....if Eros vd Mohnweise would be one of any breeder pup most likely would end up a pup or avrege schh dog.....if Ronny vd Berghe would come to your kennel and buy your pup, that pup has a good chance to be a good dog with high scores, become a stud dog and there is new breeding line

4pack..i dont like Tiekerhook....too much drive ....the only one i liked was Steffi.....vom Haus Antverpa was great kennel, but what they did, they mixed West lines with DDR lines, now we all look for Antverpa lines, but those lines in 3th or 4th pedigree dont have that mix, there is too much west lines,i like that half & half mix

i think a lot of us is more looking for the well known lines becouse if in the future if you wat to breed you need the lines to sell the pups.....LOL how can you sell a pup if there is no Fero....hehe if Fero would end up in wrong hands, and be nobody, what about that

There are several kennels in Germany doing well in their breeding program including Salztalblick, Karthago, Mohnwiese, Stoffelblick, Castra Regina to name a few. Here in the states, I think Eichenluft (Molly Graf) has done her share of putting nice working prospects in the correct hands. The statistics show that. That’s essential in making sure that time, effort and money invested in a breeding are not taken for granted. Nothing is worse than putting a nice working prospect in the hands of someone who claims they will train and title them only to complain about the nearest club being an over hour away or the club that is nearby sucks. Also one has to consider other working avenues as well. Some breeders (myself included) have place several dogs on police departments and other working environments. Of course this information isn’t readily available unless the breeder has it posted on his/her site. And for some folks the only thing of merit is Schutzhund titles (I don’t agree) So as "someone" stated, having the knowledge of the bloodlines and careful breeding (both of which they know little about) have a lot to do with how successful a breeder is as well. Putting the most recent BSP winner with some mediocre female is certainly not the way to become a successful breeder. Neither does simply putting the hottest selling stud with a more than average female either simply to spit out litters. It certainly doesn’t entail getting on here asking about a stud dog you know little about yet after having bought a female already bred to him. Historically the best trainers have not been the best breeders (which some people fail to realize). I would hope the objective would be breeding for temperament, good genetic drive, solid nerves, ideal structure and those CRUSHING grips. Lastly that also includes being honest about the desirable traits you see litter, selection testing and proper imprinting.

I agree with what dogford's statement as well

LuvCzechDawgz all the kennels you mention, they are big kennels and most likley very good trainers will get a dog from that kennel,so that size kennels witch produce so many pups a year you will find a good pup plus the pup will end up in good hands......small breeder will never sell a pup to top people,so how someone who has the same lines and spend more time and atention to his pups, can be known as a good breeder

Molly is at the top of my list. As well as Ajay. Tiekerhook is at the top of my list, as well some others mentioned. koos breeds what the GSD should be and what works for where Koos lives. Many Tiekerhook dogs are making their way over here to the US- for good reason.

You're right BSP. I agree with your last post. In most cases this is true at least

Tiekerhook has been breeding "real" working dogs for many years - some are proven in Schutzhund but most are proven in police work. To me, that is even more proof of a great breeder of working dogs, to place more dogs into police homes rather than Schh homes. Tiekerhook dogs are more known for police "titles" in Europe, than in Schh titles. Their dogs are often "too much" (drive, temperament) for Schutzhund sport. I would definately include Tiekerhook in my short list of top working breeders.

SirK9 Bravo !!! Very well said, and Very True !! Hard to comment on the original ? of this thread... As the bottom line really is as Sirk9 posted, finding the right handler is the Absolute in this game of Titles.
