I only picked on the training, it is just wrong. I would not have sent the dog away, as far as I can see from the video I change this dog in no time, he has got what you need.
BTW, I love impressing people :-), but I will probably not compete in PSA, I do not even know what it is :-)

The dog in my video has been training for 3 mos....once a week (and missed a couple sessions) pressure on the grip he is not ready for, still on grip work and confidence.    FWIW

In the end it doesn't matter if the dog is reacting in prey or defense as long as he's civil.
Sorry, but this is a lot of tosh.

The handler in the video is the owner, he was not sent away he comes with his dog.  The dog would not respond to the training the way you would like to see it, he would be ruined.

Prey is the drive a dog hunts and kills in, I respectfully disagree with you.  What venue(a) have you trained dogs in?

That is why it takes you apparently an eternity to get this dog in shape, the lack of pressure. You must make your mind up if you want to give the dog social lessons or do you want to teach him to fight ?

Bloody hell, you are always quicker with your posts. To answer your question, I train occasionally in other surroundings than the sports field, practically anywhere , sheds, tents, barnes, car parks , name it.

BTW. I am a dog trainer, not an IPO trainer, though this is my chosen sport.

GSDfan, you might see this here as a dig, I call this education ;-)

Just because you train IPO in different places does not make you an expert on civil training. I train each dog different based on what he/she brings to the table.  I would hardly call approx training 10 sessions an eternity.  All the best to u too lol

k9 you could never turn the dog gsdfan was working with into the dogs in your video he just isnt a dog of that caliber from what i see. Hes cute and beautiful more so then the other dogs but hes not as strong as they are. Those dogs could probably excel fast in anything they do. JMHO
