No, Yogie, you're not crazy...well, at least not about the other thread having gone POOF! and your post in it disappearing as well.
Not sure if the other thread is being merged with this one, or what...the link in mr darcy's post just takes me to a 403 Forbidden message.

Why wouldn't a dog without hip certification be Sch titled if the owner wanted to pursue it.  I know many dogs with mild to moderate HD that have been titled....love your dog and when it becomes of age have your dog receive their health certs....if you want to pursue SCH do that too if the dog is capable.....don't let opinions of drama cloud what you can do with your dog.

Gustav, I thought the same.....I read that comment and thought, "WTF?  seriously??"  Schutzhund is not something that many of us "bother" with, it's a big commitment!  Sorry, just can't stand when people treat it like a hoop to jump through so now the dog can breed over and over and make $2500 puppies.

Also, while I appreciate many things about the ZW score and the a-stamp system, the ZW database is not the authority on dog's hips.  My dog is not in the database but has certified hips through OFA (and I "bothered" to Schutzhund title him).

I am not familiar with this breeder/trainer.  I was at Central Alabama Schutzhund from 2008 until the end of 2011.  He wasn't a member, didn't participate in any trials, nor did he visit at any time.  I am President now of another schutzhund club (been around for 1 1/2 yr now) and he hasn't visited us.    Canine Concepts only had 2 trials from 2008 to 2011 (maybe only 1) - and they were spur of the moment and most of Alabama wasn't aware of the time.    So if he titled I don't think it was in Alabama.

With him telling you to contact the club to get the results -sounds to me like he doesn't have a scorebook - which means the dog isn't titled.  It isn't customary for people to call clubs and ask if dogs competed and what they achieved.    It is a brag for a person that actually does compete and your dog achieves their schutzhund titles.  I would be happy to show you my dogs scorebook.

@I love longcoats - are you in Alabama?

Although unlikely in this case, don't forget that until 2012, the OVC in Guelph, Ontario did hip and elbow ratings. My male GSD's parents are rated through the OVC (not OFA or the SV).

For Hexe  and who ever else may have looked at the pedigree, are there enough German dogs in her peidgree that would have been DNA'd to have the puppy's DNA done to see if she is in fact from the parents he claims she is?  At this poing NOTHING would surprise me.... if she turned out to be a dog pulled from a shelter by him it would NOT surprise me!!!  How would I go about finding out if she is the puppy he claims?  I know that all dogs from Germany are DNA'd to ensure this does not happen, but I dont know if there would be enough of those in her pedigree to be able to do this.  PLEASE let me know as I am very serious about following up... I am so angry at him!!  Thank you!!

yea , i looked up another puppy on here that looks to be a bi color coming from these same parents, so right away its a red flag as there is no way to get a bi color out of these parents. if you want to know for sure i DNA this pup to know for sure who the parents are. dif sounds like a puppy mill here. i really feel sorry for any pups coming from this breeder, which yes you need to tell all about.
