Glad to hear Jewel's getting better, good news.

If it's feasible, it would be better for her liver if your mom could keep her on the diet she's been getting since she had the vestibular incident, and cut the kibble back by a third or even half---the high bio-availability items like eggs, cooked white-meat chicken, etc. give more bang for the buck as far as nutrition goes, with very little waste material for the liver and kidneys to filter out.  Is she on milk thistle extract already? If not, do you think your mom would be willing to give it? It's relatively inexpensive, available OTC for less than the veterinary formulation of it sells for.  Takes about a month to start seeing improvement on bloodwork, but it definitely does provide added support for the liver's ability to regenerate it's cells and its function.

I have to tell you, my heart went to my throat when I saw you'd posted in the thread again--so glad to hear she's playing and dragging out her stuff and tossing her kibbles again... not surprising that she had to re-learn the stairs, but excellent news that she has done so! Wish you'd been able to get a shot of her snow-prancing!  I sure hope you have your camera with you if she starts doing making snow dog-angels again--that's a tough one when their balance is a bit off, so if she gives that a shot, her confidence in her balance will have nearly fully returned. Bad kitty, though, wait 'til HE starts to get old-age challenges of his own!

How are her ears doing?
