OK, I do know who you were referring too.  I know she was advised by a breeder on the East Coast that is something or other to do with the USCA to put a service dog vest on her dog.  But I also do know that on the day that my dog got his HGH in New Jersey, I was to meet up with Helen and went to the Hotel address after a long winding road in nowhere.  She had 2 dog with her:  Nurmi and Funny.  And I also do know that when I wanted to check in, that they said "no dogs allowed".  I also know that I called Helen and she said "just tell them he is a service dog".  And I was flabbergasted.  I drove on and my dog and I found a place where we could overnight and continue our journey onto Texas.  That is the truth.

Sunshine, I have never heard her say that. Maybe you should have talked to her about it privately before outting her on a public breed board? She does consider you a friend and always speaks well of you, your HGH dog and the time you spent together.

No rules - no proof - no nothing

Susie the difference is, I use my service dog to help me in everyday life and am not using it as a get of out of jail free card excuse to breed a dog.... to compare service dog to a self labled personal protection dog who only gets labled such to sell pups from untitled dogs? Am I missing something here?
 

GSDNewbie, this was no attack, I only tried to point out  the similarities.

It´s pretty simple - as long as there are no rules/no legal proof people are able to cheat, be it in PP, service dogs, or somewhere else.
A lot of people out there are only looking for their own advantage, no matter in which venue.

A "real" service dog is a great help for people in need, they should be allowed to go everywhere without limitations, it´s ( as always ) about the people, who are cheating.

Problem is how do you structure rules to prevent cheating without making things more burdensome on those who have legitimate service dogs?

I tried to read the certificates that come with each kit, but couldn't. Is there a difference? I guess there are plenty of other vendors who offer similar kits.

That is the problem, GSD4dogs. There may not be a way that is fair to those with legitimate service dogs.

Is there a legit PP title/designation?
