I can tell you I won't be posting or visiting after reading through the Puppies thread.  I'm a newb and own a WL GSD and did my research for over 6 months prior to buying.  This included being schooled on OFA and whether or not you agree "how someone says something" there can be much knowledge to their post. The problem is people TODAY (young and old) have this complex with "sensitivity".  People get so worked up when someone shares their opinion or knowledge and actually DISAGREES.  Wow, heaven forbid there is actually two or three sides to a thread or post.  Everyday conversations go off topic all the time! What are we? Robots?

Absolutely ridiculous and dramatic how BZCZ (Matt, he never "hid" his name) was spoken to on here as well as Kim! These two have shared their knowledge in forums time and time again and "newbs" like me appreciate reading their posts.  I'm not visiting and every newb I know I'm warning them to not step into the dramatic world of PDB. Half the time I want to vomit at the posts I read!

** and good job to GSD admin.  As you were posting to Kim you cussed one or two times on the puppies thread... None of the overly sensitive users with 10,000 posts didn't pick up on that

farewell PDB :)

Templars,

Thanks for the words of support.  Don't hit the door just yet.  Let's wait and see how this all settles out.  I'm not going anywhere and forcing me to change my screen name isn't going to change my posts one whit.

bzcz now mklevin.

Friendly suggestion, don't ruin this thread too, started with good intentions. I suggest instead of hijacking others threads, the unhappy few members start their own? Thank you.

Mr Darcy,

How is Templars post off topic?  Templars is squarely in the demographic that Ibrahim is aiming for.  A member here for only 7 months with 17 posts.  And he's talking about his perceptions which is what Ibrahim referenced in his initial post.

Isn't that the point of this new thread?  To help the newer  members to post more and to talk about their feelings and misgivings in posting and maybe even addressing them so that they become more comfortable here?

mkleven, where did I say anything about off topic? Please refresh my memory?

First line of original post

Hi,

I thought of making this post after I started receiving increasing number of PMs asking for opinion in private from members who are afraid to post on forums less sombody belittle them or embaress them or take their own post off original topic or take them to areas they wouldn't feel comfortable at or in (whichever is the correct one Teeth Smile).

Ok so if we agree that Templars post is on topic then why the warning about hijacking the thread?

While we are on the topic of those that don't post anymore does anyone know where Slam went sure miss his very informative posts!!

by mklevin on 08 October 2014 - 15:10

Slam left and went to a different board.  He still watches this one occasionally, hopefully he will answer your post and not get his answer deleted.
