as a self proclaimed back yard champion i would like to know how many folks here put their own dog in defence to train it to withstand real pressure one might find in a civil encounter.

i am on the fence about it atm, on first blush it seems a dicey practice, i have heard that it is perfectly vaild for newbs to do this at home with their own dog.

thoughts?

My own dog? 2 words for your my friend...F@&*% NO.

by vk4gsd on 25 March 2015 - 21:03

first unless you have bought me a beer or three then we are not friends.

second, just because you lack the skills and experience (and dog)  to do it does not mean some newb can't or shouldn't.

First, I dont drink...

Second, unless you know me personally, you cannot speak of what I lack or know, end of this subject.

Last, if you want to push some BS on some newcomer and have them get hurt, by all means, its your concience.

don't drink huh, i bet you don't even chain-smoke either. i have met guys like you...bunch of non-drinking, non-smokers, kinda healthy types. therefore why should your opinion count?

i am not pushing anything, it is called a DISCUSSION - i will have you know a master trainer (name witheld) has bred and trained  thousands of dogs for LEO stands fast on this topic and will argue the point till the cows come home...to roost?

are you that insecure you can engage in a reasonable adult debate, please list your reasons why this is not to your liking and no ad hominems or profanities thanks.
