I just purchased a puppy from Vom Banach in Washington State. The puppies father is Aaron Wind Wild 5CJV5/55P. The Dame is Caledonia "Callie" Vom Banach.
My question is the puppy did not come with papers and said she need to get the Fathers Foreign Registration then after that she then registers the puppies and it takes up to 6-9 months. Does this sound right?

I even think the breeder sent the wrong pup. I have attached 2 links. The first link is the one I purchased, 2nd link is the pup I got. What do you think? Any help or comments would be appreciated.

When was the first picture taken from the second? I will say Sable's do change in color a lot! It does kinda look like you got a different pup though.

The part about the registration papers is true, especially if the sire was recently imported.

And, I do think that those are 2 different pups -- color, head shape, and ears.

You should talk with your breeder.

I did and I am getting nowhere. She told me the ears fell the day before she sent him. I think it was a dishonest deal on the breeders side. It is a shame that a breeder can do this and nothing happens.

The ears can fall.

Do you like the pup?

Not the same pup then. Really disappointing there are breeders so dishonest mostly when you agreed to a certain one. However usually breeders pick depending on the pups personality and drive to the new owner. Maybe the owner felt that pup wasn't right for you? Either way still shouldn't have promised one and gave you another.

O we love the pup. We just lost a 5 year old due to pancreas cancer. I was not going to get another one but there was something about the guy in the first photo that touched me and I was 3rd in line and was happy I got my choice. He had the look my dog I just put down had when he was a pup.

I just don't like getting ripped off sort of say. If you ordered a red car and a blue car was delivered would you be ok? I paid good money for something you should get what you pay for.

It could be that this pup was the best match for you, or the pup in the first picture could have been misidentified. It can be really hard to sort through 60+ pictures of a litter and label them all correctly.

As long as you got a puppy that himself is a good match for your family... well, consider it serendipity?

I also don't think that's the same puppy. I'd be irate, yeah, but at least you got a puppy that you like. It could've been worse. You could've been in a position where the breeder took your money and didn't give you anything or give you something that you absolutely didn't like.

I'm not trying to sound mean, so I'm sorry if it's taken that way.

Also, the thing about the papers sound about right. You can also send in DNA to be sure the pup comes from the foreign sire, at least, once you receive the papers. AKC requires DNA of foreign dogs to be registered.
