I've imported a puppy recently from a famous breeder whose notorious for breeding highly civil dogs , I love the dog and he has the most well developed fight drive I have seen in a dog or GSD in that matter ., my question is although barley 4 months he's very aggressive towards dogs or even people ( hair up , teeth showing and going for it ) this dog is intended for patrol work so he's never going to be socialized with people or other dogs but to correct his aggression at this age would it kill or hurt his drive ?

Wow. I would guess you mean guard dog patrol and not LEO. I would think obedience is an imperative no matter what, otherwise all you have is a dangerous dog.

Puppy has started obedience and is being worked environmentally , exposed to everything and anything except being a petting toy , the goal is raise a dog neutral to both humans and dogs ..

Behaviorially, barely four months old is a baby, still, and are you suggesting the aggression is from fear of its safety or something else? Do you have a fear of petting your dog, and thinking it will become soft, as well, if you do?

Def not fear , or else that be a problem ... Puppy has an incredible fight drive and naturally dog aggressive , I have a good bond with the puppy , I was referring to strangers petting the dog or just random people or dogs

Looks to me not a very stable and balanced puppy we will see how he matured

I have seen more of this let I,m  say civil wonder puppys........put him together

with an adult dominant male and see what happened with your puppy.Tongue Smile

Are you able to have an evaluation by a person who understands your goals and has seen puppys raised to the level of training your dog will need to rise to? If there is a nerve issue, would you replace the pup? I would rather start over early than go down the path of thinking I have my dog and finding out later it is not suitable.

Puppy has been evaluated and was hand picked by the breeder actually , just an over the top dominant and sharp .. No nerve issues , I've accepted the fact that I may have to fight this dog most of his life but there's a role he can fit in and certainly not for everyone , great looking pup btw.. Just don't wanna put too many restrictions on him and ruin his drive , just trying to figure out a way to redirect his aggression

This makes me think .....
When I hear the "term over the top" and the word civil . When i hear this , I step back and ponder .
4 month puppy ... should be a puppy . To me that is a kin to say a child should learn to be a child , to crawl , to step , to walk then run ., philosophically speaking.
'over the top' and 'civil' , I have found many so called educated breeders not having a clue about what they are producing or they do not want to acknowledge what they breed. Those are very non descriptive words that in my experience , again I write , in my personal experience have been temperament flawed gs !
I add that every dog , no matter what the endeavor , should be approachable by children even an adult let alone a puppy. Yes , we can raise the suspicious level in order to keep the dog from assuming everybody is on the up and up . But the dog not only should but MUST be able to be discerning .
Personally , I am wondering about this puppy i see written about.

Civil, Naturally Dog and People Aggressive at four months? - Never Going to be Socialized with People or other Dogs? Not my idea of a clear headed dog or handler.

Take a step back and think about what you are doing and what your goals are for this dog.

If you want to raise a confident, social, friendly, neutral dog, which is able to turn on it's Civil Drives When Needed (which is almost never) - in a milli-second - your going about it ALL WRONG.

If your goal is to raise a dangerous Land Shark - your on the right path.

My advice is to PAUSE - LEARN MORE....and continue your goals from a more educated platform. Cudo's to you for asking advice on here. Dog training - Like Life is a continual learning process. Best of Luck.
