Stop smoking that dope, Son. Football is the most violent sport out there. Even the fighting sports don't have the number of injuries or severity.

Yeah its easy to be tough in full body armour to hide in and have a separate team to do offense and defence with a commercial break every play.

See how you go running a full 80 minutes doing your own offense and defence with no padding.

Football is not the most violent sport and using injury rates to back that up is wrong. Injuries do not equal violence. Danger does not equal violence. Boxing, kickboxing and mma are the most violent because they are the purest expressions of violence in sports between humans. The only thing comparable would be something like bullfighting where the objective of the matador and the bull is to kill their respective opponents. If we add in the physical and mental torment the bull goes through leading up to the actual "fight" then it is easily the most violent "sport" out there.

The danger of football also varies by position. It is more dangerous for a QB or RB getting hit by a lineman who might outweigh them by close to 100 pounds than it is for the lineman. In the combat sports you will get punched, kicked, etc., and you will be punching and kicking your opponent. Also, the danger of repeated head trauma is a bigger risk for a boxer, kickboxer, etc., than it is for football players as they will end up getting hit more in the head over the course of their careers than football players. The effects of head trauma don't always manifest until after a fighter has retired. Number of injuries is irrelevant as many more people play football, basketball, soccer, tennis, etc. Another thing is how to compare injuries. Broken bones and damaged ligaments suck but they are nothing compared to brain damage. Yes, athletes in football, soccer, and other contact sports may suffer permanent brain damage but in the combat sports it's pretty much a guarantee.

Lol. Way to take some light banter seriously. I did find that site's list personally funny because my Ex told my son she didn't want him playing football. I told my son to ask her why his sister rides/shows horses. That list had horses the most deadly.

I honestly don't care how dangerous these sports are. Purely for our entertainment. If they want to risk their well-being for millions of dollars, go for it.

I think your response(s) show that you are the one taking it seriously, homeboy. It's not my fault that my knowledge of sports, and multiple shots to the head, makes me more manly than you.

Haha....run with that.

What? Isn't one's amount of manliness directly related to his amount of brain trauma and time spent watching sports?

It means whatever you want it to. In some ancient cultures you had to be a warrior. The English word "virtue" comes from Latin, "virtus", which basically means manliness. The Romans thought manliness was living a life of virtue. Aristotle had a code of ethics for men to live by. Virtually being the best "man" you can be.
But, yes. Ramming your head into another man's head is manly. In all honesty, I wasn't really even watching the games. I got a new guitar for Christmas and I've been pretty busy with that. I played hockey my whole life and the only fight I got into was with my brother. You should go talk to him. He was well known for fighting.

Who was your brother Bob Probert? Anyways, hockey is the only sport. Was there really an inauguration? I hadn't noticed. I heard there was going to be this yuge thing going on but it never materialized, oh well.
