There is not a universal curve sign. Your link specifically describes curves and turns as left or right. It just doesn't show every sign with every direction made. A Dept. of Public Works employee would not have used the winding road sign with an upcoming left or right turn for that particular 90 degree right angle turn; a right turn ahead sign would be more accurate to use. IMHO

So, are you saying your intent was to show the correct road signage? Hmmm, that would change the painting's overall message, yes.

I will have to download and flip your detail image on my other computer, or stand on my head to really examine it. I never could stand on my head! So, I will do the other tomorrow in the a.m.🙃 🐝🌖

Man, I thought this, was the easiest to read, outside of the messages in th e trees. The garbage is behind him and he's headed in the "right" direction. Right has dual meanings.

I am trying to feel your painting.... not read it. 🍃 📬🗞

Okay, I have now managed to be able to see what you actually painted in the bottom foreground. Yes, there is mail in the mailbox, too. I see the large waste receptacle is full because of the two plastic bags next to it are waiting with it to be picked up and carted away.

Interestingly enough, it is a wonder I even thought there was a mailbox because I never saw what you are showing, lol, as a mailbox. It was a true feeling that popped in my head and as soon as I did I realized it was his driveway to his home, and then of that detail, I had no doubt. If it was his home then those points might have been animal ears out of a possible reason.

Now that you have grown into your unique painting style and as I become more familiar with it, when it comes to some details, I have to consider if there is a deliberate manipulation from the natural or known. When you wonder why this should have been easy to see your intent because your thoughts were literal, I still have to examine the elements individually as unknowns. Something like Hydogen isotopes, not being part of my normal go to interactions in life, I appreciate that hint! I surely saw an H, but didn't get much past that! Lol

I don't need to know the leafy secret message, but just enough to know it looms large, over him, as he leaves behind the garbage that was cluttering his life and makes the steps in the right direction for himself. He doesn't even bother opening his mail, perhaps it is junk, too, and doesn't want to bother with its generic clutter, either.

Lol. You probably can't see, but it is an open mailbox. And I didn't intend for that to be his home/drive

by beetree on 22 February 2017 - 15:02

I said there was mail IN the mailbox, so yes, my response indicates I can see an open mailbox. If it isn't mail he doesn't want to read, then he must have left his own, "Dear Johnna" letter.

If it isn't his garbage and driveway, then those both belong to the lover that he is making the right move by leaving.

Since he travels only with his guitar and the clothes on his back, I had thought to figure it was his, not her's, driveway. Next time if he is on a journey from home will you please give him a backpack, too!

Chaz, I really like the new painting! There is a freshness about it, something with happiness or enjoyment going on! I will try to get to an in depth analysis as soon as I can.

I was hoping the crescent was a waxing moon, and it is, since the people gathering around the fire pit in the clearing of the woods must be in the Northern hemisphere. That feels optimistic to me!

For the first time we see his face and he is playing music on his guitar for everyone, and they feel like his family and maybe some new friends, too. There is red wine in glasses and good times happening!

(I don't have time for more, but I will in the a.m)

Here is the detail of the upper left quadrant of your new painting. One can now see the very large and prominent crescent moon. A waxing moon that sits serenely in a dark sky, one that is clear enough to see the gathering stars of the night time heavens.

We see three large evergreens in a close grouping, almost like solemn witnesses to the gathering folk around the firepit. They seem to be reminders of what is important, maybe something that was set aside, ignored or lost and has been regained. I can't be sure what they stand for, but their message is forever, like the evergreen trees that they are.

The waxing crescent moon is symbolic, as is its dominating size in the composition. The moon has associations in many cultural and spiritual expressions as feminine energy, so I am assured that there is a female of great importance that has a large and looming presence within our guitar player's life, even if that presence remains outside of his daily life. The fact that it is a waxing moon gives rise to another area of his life, that he pursues without or, because of her void in his presence. The waxing moon is the symbol of  growth and creativity. He continues to grow his own life and soul without her, even as her absence is felt; that void is as constant as the moon that will appear and hang in the night sky, each and every night.

He accepts the journey that has him here, right now, with the gathering at the firepit. It is a relief to know the people who are in his life, never left him, and they are glad to see him back as he is again, playing for them, too.

I will get to the firepit, next!

A large fire is blazing in the firepit. This is the first time we see the Music Man playing guitar facing us, the viewer. He is playing for the group who have gathered to hear him play, be warmed by the fire and enjoying the night air with wine and each other's company. They all have chairs and one man seems to have just arrived, his hand on the back of a chair, still standing but listening attentively to the music. A couple on the left corner sit close to each other, only their shadows tell us there are two chairs, one for each of them. The woman with the wine glass is on his left, and maybe a family member is to his right. There is one person though, with their backs to us whose head looks like it is melding with the fire? Not sure if this is a lack of detail issue or deliberate on the part of the artist.
