Hello! I was wondering if anyone can identify this dog for me that I saw on Google images? I have never, previously, been drawn to long coats but I really like this individual and am trying to track the dog and his/her owners down. Thanks in advance!

Sorry, all. I believe I just found him by accident while searching all internet threads for 'V rated long coat german shepherds'. The photo might be of a dog named Xander Von Fidelius who is a V1 dog, IPO3, and 12 years old (if still alive). And, unfortunately, looks like he is in Germany. Dang. Bummer for me. Argh. My typical luck.

Yes, he is ( or was ? ) a German dog...I don´t know if he is still alive, but he is a classic combination out of Yasko, Pirie ( a daughter of Timo ), Ando, and Jeck. All of them show lines, and all of them known for good working abilities, not the flavor of the day though Wink Smile - a good choice, but a couple of years too late.

Not that many descendants around, the long stock coats don´t get a lot of breedings, most breeders don´t breed for "coats" over here.

Thanks, Susie for the information! Yeah, my taste is never the flavor of the day...that's an understatement!! lol I'm always a day late and a dollar short! But, at least I am only 12 years off with this dog! Half the time, I find a dog I like and it's like from the fifties or sixties!! haha

Go to the clubs, and I am sure you will find some dogs you like.
They are still out there...

I have been to the clubs and 1/2 of the dogs look like Mals...sorry but true. Sometimes, I have even had to ask what breed.

I seem to like dogs that would look out of place on both the IPO field and in the Show ring. Go figure. *sigh*

My dream dog would combine structure of German working line with head and coat of German show line and movement and topline of American line and...of course, health, temperament, and working/performance ability! I'm going to breed it eventually....I'm getting there!

My dream dog would shit gold.....just saying.

Honestly, I have no idea how you can mistake a Malinois with a Shepherd. To ask, what breed? Really?

Go look at the early gsd the breed was built on, apart from colour looked every bit like a mal.

Good to hear xeph and smiley have no problem with creating lab experiments for their personal gratification.

VK.....*Yawn*. For someone who is SO into the true working shepherd, you sure do spend an awful lot amount of time on this forum posting negativity and bashing people everyday. Why don't you go out and train? Oh wait... that's because you're probably a kid. No way you could possibly be an adult with all the inappropriate comments you make. Get back to school, little one.

And...Chaz....how many IPO training fields have you been on? lol Yeah, the majority in my area look like mals with their poor type and mole coats.

How about this.....if you don't have anything nice to say when you read a post than simply don't post. Just move on. You should both try it sometime.
