Why am I not surprised that Dog1 is one of the people taking the time to give informative comments on the show. He's as nice and helpful in person, as he is on this site---and, I dare say, probably right on point about his observations. Shelley S. mentioned Andrjuscha on another thread. I was around a son of his at another show, and found this dog remarkably calm and stable, plus beautiful. I didn't really know whether to attribute these qualities to Andrjuscha or his dam---but after her comments about A. being not dog-aggressive, I have a clearer picture. At one point, we were all watching the working females go around the ring, and the owner of the A.son was totally enmeshed in conversation with another onlooker. I don't know how it happened--either the leash slipped out of the owner's hand unnoticed, or became untethered from a chair, etc., but, the dog just wandered off to join a couple of other dogs to my left. He said hello to them and acted the complete gentleman. I was very impressed. I also quietly stepped on the handle of his leash and waited until the owner finally realized he was loose. Struck me funny.

It was great fun to meet some of the people on the message boards I monitor... neat to finally put faces to the names. I had a blast the whole weekend. Such a well-organized event, beautiful weather, great venue, and super seeing old friends I haven't had a chance to hang out with in too long, as well as meeting new ones. It WAS totally weird to be there, but not have any dogs entered. I had all the nerves and adrenalin, despite the absence of any pressure. Strange feeling, left me feeling slightly depressed as I pulled out of the grounds. Its like I was still waiting for "my" classes to be called... and it was OVER. LOL I would have felt better on the drive home if I HAD entered, even if I had run last in every class. Better an ugly bride's maid than wistfully sitting in the pews the whole time. ;) Its too nice out to sit at the computer. I'm out to train dogs. More later. SS
