My understanding, from what's been posted, was that Bob WAS going to refund her.  I thought that if he had changed his mind (which we don't know) that it was likely after she threatened to report him to Animal Control, etc. If  you act like that, then the person might think they would be better off dealing with you in court where there is a legal record of what transpired. 

I don't know all the details, of course, just throwing my impression out there.

No. Only a vengeful, petty, greedy person would do that in the absence of mistreatment of animals. Calling AC because you're pissed off about money is just sick and would certainly reinforce that the right decision was made- give the trash their money back and wash your hands of them!

I did not contact the animal control. I contacted the police to get my money back. There has not been a report of anything to animal control as I don't know anything about how they live or how their animals are kept, so it would not be a concern for AC. 

If he keeps the money because of the way people have talked about him their is not much you can do unless you want to spend time in small claims court. You have to ask yourself what court are you going to use. Usually its the one in the breeders town.So unless you want to travel to court thats not around the corner go ahead. Otherwise play better. These are the types of things that happen when people get a little knowledge, and have an obsession and compulsion to buy site unseen. Then with the other breeders chiming in with more negitive conjecture, does it really help the situation. Does it shine a negative light on your own breeding/ kennel program. Everyone knows who they are.

khlewis, you stated on page one of this thread that you did contact animal control on them. 

Pardon my mistake. I contacted local authorities only. Animal control was not contacted as they are only involved in cases of animal abuse or neglect. I do not know that this is the case here. I appoligize for using the incorrect term previously. I have only been in contact with the local authorities here in KY and they have told me that they will work with local authorities locally in the Kress' area.
