If the GSD fraternity were to procede with their own organisation without the Kennel Club how would this affect import and exports as Kaffirdog pointed out ?.
Would foreign Kennel Clubs accept dogs that were registered under a newly  formed registration system ?.

The Kennel Club MUST register every litter from Kennel Club registered pedigree dogs. Because if they refuse it could detrimentally and unreasonably affect the owners or breeders of such offspring in numerous ways. And they would then face legal consequences and liabilities.

The only way they could refuse to register is through disciplinary action against a breeder, and that has to be for behavior discreditable or prejudicial to the interests of the canine world.

If the Kennel Club refused to register our GSD they would be legally liable for all consequential losses arising from such a refusal.

This is why my article "OUR BREEDS FUTURE IN OUR HANDS"  includes our continuing to register our GSD with the Kennel Club.

If we wish to set up a registration system ourselves, we should do this in addition to registering with the Kennel Club. I see no point in doing this. However we could and should produce our own PEDIGREES with ALL important information included in the PEDIGREE.

If the Kennel Club "THROW THE GSD OUT" they can ONLY mean - they would refuse to allow us to have Kennel Club licensed shows. Even if they did this, they could face legal consequences, simply because they would have to have justifiable reason to to it. If they quoted "double handling" as a reason, because of health risks, they would have to clearly illustrate with examples of injuries caused by double handling.

So you should ALL now understand that the future for "OUR BREED IN OUR HANDS" is looking very exciting indeed.

Sue B: Do you know who pencil is?
because:
pencil states "you KNOW full well that I know more about the law that you could dream of"
you reply "Ouch! Hit a raw nerve did I pencil?"

Thank you Videx for a very clear explanation.  I think most breeders supply their own pedigree's as it is because the Kennel Club fail to include important information on their over priced pedigree's.

Love Sues picture - this thread is much too important to get side tracked with who is who though....

Monopolies Commission come to mind if the K.C. were to try to monopolise dog shows to themselves without good reason.

2012 comes to mind in readiness for this to be challenged unless we are all going into hibernation for a year, - then what happens.  Will stock be replaced with K.C. approved stock?  Or will the KC say - ok you had your hands slapped for a year, now go back to showing your dogs.... Nothing to do with health of course, as no dog ever died of the conditions they speak of, and come to think of it - no one as far as I can hear has ever been injured by double handling. Oh, and of course there is no plan for stock to be hip X-rayed before registering......

Dont worry folks about what the K.C. will do if we run great shows in 2012 - just get together and help to plan...enjoy the year, and give ourselves an alternative ..................... just in case we like it  !!!!!!   Then what.    Mo.  Mascani.

Hi All,
I feel we as breeders should ask the GSD partnership to set up a VOLUNTARY GSD  registration system that will show  ALL the health checks the dam & sire have had prior to matting ASAP.
This mean having TWO registrations one KC registration and one GSD partnership Registration.
I understand there would be a cost for this and also some advertising by the Partnership to make the public aware of the difference between both registrations.

I sure someone will make me aware of any legal problems there may be and also the cost that will be incurred.
I personally am willing to register any GSD's I have under both systems.
