Zamp was one of my favorites as well.

Thank you for posting this, it's good to know Zamp seemed a bad boy at first as I am a new GSD owner and a little worried about training a bad boy to be a good boy. My puppy was just born on 2/12/12 and it appears I have "lucked" into Zamp's progeny, he is a grandsire of both of my puppy's parents. I was just looking for a good dog and wow, I got Zamp on both sides! My puppy is from the first litter of Pallas von Ben Harten, and the sire is V Gonzo von Haus Anja. After reading the story at Zamp's site, I am really really excited now but I don't get him until early May.

Did he die at age 8? What did he die from....was it an accident or injury?

Nobody knows? Was his death medical/genetic or an accident? What a sad ending....
I had never heard of Zamp (as I am new to the German world). It was a really great article! If one sees Zamp in a pedigree what traits did he tend to throw. He was a beautiful, beautiful dog and looks like he had tons of substance. He looks like he was 4 times the size of my WL bitch!! Gorgeous head to boot!!
Thanks,
Sara
